View Full Version : How does he get away with this...

he just finds it difficult to tell the truth when the facts do not match what he NEEDS at the time.

1.

"In his supposedly nonfiction memoir, "Dreams From My Father," Obama claims he and the girlfriend got into a "big fight" after seeing a New York play by a black writer. He became annoyed when she allegedly asked "why black people were so angry all the time."

Obama biographer David Maraniss contacted the former girlfriend, Genevieve Cook, who insists the scene never took place. She says they never even saw a show by a black playwright.

Maraniss, who works for the Washington Post, snagged an interview with the president and asked him about the discrepancy. Obama agreed with Cook's account.

So why did he make up the anecdote? He told Maraniss it was a "useful theme to make about sort of the interactions that I had in the relationships with white girlfriends."

How convenient — especially when the overall theme of his bitter memoir is white racism."

2.

"Obama told another whopper in his autobiography. He wrote that while thumbing through a copy of Life magazine, he came across a story about a black man who underwent chemical treatments to lighten his skin. He claims he recoiled in horror at the photo of the bleached man, who looked like "an albino."

Then he says he got so angry that "I felt my face and neck get hot." He was upset that blackness was so condemned in America that a black man would resort to making himself white.

Only, that story wasn't true, either. Life never published such an article."

3.

"Obama also grossly exaggerates his own battles with racism while attending a mostly white prep school in Honolulu.

He wrote that he commiserated with his only black friend, a character named "Ray." The Chicago Tribune tracked down the real guy, a half-Japanese Hawaiian named Keith Kakugawa, and found they never even talked about race.

"The idea that his biggest struggle was race is (bull)," Kakugawa said."

4.

"After graduating from Columbia University, Obama says he took a Manhattan job in an unidentified "consulting house to international corporations," where he acted as "a spy behind enemy lines." In fact, he worked for a small newsletter publisher"

Obama Caught Telling More Whoppers In His Best-Selling Book - Investors.com (http://news.investors.com/article/610275/201205031911/president-plays-loose-with-facts-about-past.htm)

Now, add to that he lied openly about a number of things relative to the Health Care bill....transparent discussion, would involve cutting costs of health care, tort reform, etc, etc.

I know it is irritating for those who support him to read this all the time, but these are INDISPUTABLE FACTS, not opinions.

I realize that nobody is perfect......no candidate is perfect....but does this not bother anyone but me. He lied in his own autobiography...he lied to the nation on a very very important thing which is now before the Supreme Court and because of the political nature and backroom deals it might get overturned.....there are a lot of folks that finally got coverage from this bill that now stand to lose it and it is HIS fault.

I am not sure we want a president who lies so easily and it does not seem to bother him. He has supporters who refuse to discuss the issues that are so urgent in this campaign, but are counting numbers in the crowd as some sort of special event....counting Romneys money...where it is.

Ok...will give everyone a break and get out of here, but where we are going with leadership like this is bothersome.

It's just like I said in a previous thread. Simply put; Obama himself doesn't really consider himself as a person, as much as he considers himself an idea who's time is now.

Nothing about the man is genuine, except for his radical agenda.

It's no more complicated than that.

when he loses in November, be prepared for the race card to be thrown by somebody as one of the major reasons for failing to be re-elected.

Fox News made a big deal about Obama's composite girlfriend a few days ago. Obama has admitted that some of the stories he tells about what happened in his youth as a black man have been simplified so he could tell the story better.

The stories still happened though.

Why It Matters that Obama Dated a Composite and Ate a Dog - President Obama - Fox Nation (http://nation.foxnews.com/president-obama/2012/05/03/why-it-matters-obama-dated-composite-and-ate-dog)

"Actually, it turns out that Obama always said that his New York squeeze was a fake. Within a couple of hours of the story breaking, journalists pointed out that at the beginning of Dreams From My Father it reads, 'For the sake of compression, some of the characters that appear are composites of people, I’ve known, and some events appear out of precise chronology.' Politico was forced to print a humiliating correction and David Graham of The Atlantic went in for the kill: 'Politico has served as an unwitting pawn in a game conservative spinmeisters are playing to redefine Obama between now and November … It's much the same as the flap over Obama eating dog, in which a different piece of Dreams From My Father, in which he describes eating canine meat as a boy in Indonesia, was rediscovered. While conservative activists and journalists present these stories while claiming that Obama wasn't properly vetted four years ago, what's actually happening is they're reintroducing facts to the record, this time with a far more negative spin.'" From the above linked FoxNews story.

This is a much more interesting take on Obama though-- Why it matters that Obama dated a composite and ate a dog – Telegraph Blogs (http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/timstanley/100155478/why-it-matters-that-obama-dated-a-composite-and-ate-a-dog/)

Would not the "lies" in his HealthCare bill be spotted quickly???

And, he does admit in his autobiography that some of the characters were composites, probably because he would not have a fear of being sued for some kind of defamation if he blurs the truth in stories about private people.

"Would not the "lies" in his HealthCare bill be spotted quickly???"

NO!

because the objective was to get something passed...NOT authenticate or as we all know determine the cost.

Comments during that process...Obama telling congress to change what ever they had to change, just get something passed. And of course the famous Pelosi comment, let's get this bill passed so we can see what is in it.

Isn't the House of Representative controlled by the Republicans? Would it not be the Majority in the House which would be adding stuff?

Most of his lies are not IN the bill...

He lied about transparency in debating the bill

He lied about addressing the costs of health care

He lied about it addressin tort reform

He lied in his "estimates" on the cost..

THIS in addition to making backroom deals to get it done despite having control over both houses, and actually had to blackmail at least two states to vote for it.

Now as we discover he also lied in his autobiography...his autobiography for gosh sake.

Do you have any thing to back up the "payoff" and lies accusations???

Here is one to start...

"ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports: What does it take to get a wavering senator to vote for health care reform? Here’s a case study. On page 432 of the Reid bill, there is a section increasing federal Medicaid subsidies for “certain states recovering from a major disaster.” The section spends two pages defining which “states” would qualify, saying, among other things, that it would be states that “during the preceding 7 fiscal years” have been declared a “major disaster area.” I am told the section applies to exactly one state: Louisiana, the home of moderate Democrat Mary Landrieu, who has been playing hard to get on the health care bill. In other words, the bill spends two pages describing would could be written with a single world: Louisiana. (This may also help explain why the bill is long.) Senator Harry Reid, who drafted the bill, cannot pass it without the support of Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu. How much does it cost? According to the Congressional Budget Office: $100 million."

The $100 Million Health Care Vote? - ABC News (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2009/11/the-100-million-health-care-vote/)

and another...there are more...

"Ben Nelson’s “Cornhusker Kickback,” as the GOP is calling it, got all the attention Saturday, but other senators lined up for deals as Majority Leader Harry Reid corralled the last few votes for a health reform package.

Nelson’s might be the most blatant – a deal carved out for a single state, a permanent exemption from the state share of Medicaid expansion for Nebraska, meaning federal taxpayers have to kick in an additional $45 million in the first decade.

But another Democratic holdout, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), took credit for $10 billion in new funding for community health centers, while denying it was a “sweetheart deal.” He was clearly more enthusiastic about a bill he said he couldn’t support just three days ago. "

And then who knows where this might go...

"Pfizer Inc. and Merck & Co. are being pulled into an expanding congressional investigation into the deal drugmakers cut with the Obama administration to support Democrats’ overhaul of the U.S. health-care system, according to three people familiar with the talks"

No matter who wins in Nov. racism will blow up worse than it is now and you can correct if I'm wrong. My father told me when I was very young that one day there would only be one race but the human being would find something to hate one another. Racism is talked about more in the last 3 years than ever before . Sorry if this is a little off subject

Oh what a surprise!! A Republican controlled House to "investigate an Obama deal with drug companies"!!

Let me get this straight (with a straight face attempted), the House (Republican controlled) and totally against Affordable Health Act is launching an impartial investigation to see if deals were made with drug companies? This is about the most ridiculous posting that has ever been on the forum.:a20::a20::a20::a20::a20:

Instead of the laughing faces, I wish there were little kangaroos that would show a kangaroo court with all of that impartiality that will be taking place.

Oh, the straws that the wubers are reaching for are quickly sinking along with wuber credibility.

The Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 repealed and removed the so-called "Cornhusker Kickback" agreement. It was never included in the final agreement, and Senator Ben Nelson D-NE voted no on the Affordable Care Act.

Just curious...still no response on why anyone would lie......or comments on the lies told...

In his auto biography....nobody has addressed. TALTARZAC is correct, the paragraph about ONE of the stories was in fact in the book....BUT NOT IN THE FIRST PUBLICATION AND NOT UNTIL CAUGHT. Check it out

Nobody has addressed lies 2, 3 or 4 from his book.

Nobody has addressed the lies from the health care debacle, especially the ones made directly to the american public.
The link given on Nebraska does not even mention all the other states such as LA and is basicall a democratic response on how it would have happened anyway.

Seems to me that you folks who find the need to defend Obama have yourself on your heels and think that if you write something on 1 of a number of lies, you are clear.

ON the House investigation, as I started the post...I said...WE WILL SEE WHERE THIS GOES, but you didnt see that I suppose and I understand with all the other deceitful things that revolve around this healtcare bill.

But he still has lied..nobody has even come close to disproving anyof them. The only one is #1 on his autobiography and that note was NOT in the original publication.

I really do not see the big deal if he made a composite of several girlfriends into a couple of girlfriends. From what I can tell, he was writing about racism encountered while out with these various women. The points he was trying to make were about social conditions and not about the specific women he dated. Unless he were someone like George Clooney at the time he wrote his autobiography, doubt if many people would care about his love life.

If I accept that ONE,which as I said was NOT in the original publication, please address the other 3 lies in the autobiography and the lies before, in and after the healthcare bill, which affects a ton of americans.

PS...I might add that other presidents have been called liars for much much less, and to me, it opens up the door. IF he lied about things in his autobiography, did he lie about Bill Ayers....what else did he lie about ? And if he lied about our Health care, how do you trust him ?
