that njbchbum mentioned the Sunday morning shows. I was struck how some media are changing just a tad (as are the polls a little bit)...but....I have said for so many months that this President is the single most political president we have ever had...EVER...and now on ABC on Sunday we get some statistical confirmation that it is true...
"President Obama demonstrated the power of his office this week, shifting seamlessly in a span of just over 30 hours from commander- in-chief in a dangerous war zone to campaigner-in-chief on the trail in D.C.
Fresh back from Afghanistan, Obama attended two private, $40,000-a-plate fundraisers Wednesday at the exclusive W Hotel, raising at least $2 million for the 2012 campaign, Democratic officials said.
The big money events, coming ahead of Obama’s first public campaign rallies on Saturday, are the latest reminder of how the president is padding his war chest at an unprecedented rate.
Obama has headlined 132 re-election fundraisers for his campaign and the Democratic Party since early last year, according to tracking by ABC News and U.S. Naval Academy political scientist Brendan Doherty.
President George W. Bush attended 86 fundraisers for his re-election campaign, the Republican Party or both groups during his first term. Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush appeared at a total of 70 and 24, respectively.
And as Obama travels the country – or across the street, as was the case last night – taxpayers foot most of the bill, experts say."
And read that last sentence as to WHO IS PAYING

Sort of related.....just saw this while reading...
"Unofficially, the president's re-election campaign has been under way for several months.
If you look at his speeches to large audiences in swing states, they look and sound a lot like campaign rallies."
And I know there are a few folks on here who just love polls and this is in the same article so it is only fair to share...
"A new Politico-George Washington University poll shows Mitt Romney leading President Obama by one point, 48 to 47 percent.
In that poll, independent voters prefered Romney by a ten-point margin."

I love polls, and I would suspect most, if not all, campaigns spend a lot of $$ on polling. Karl Rove believes very strongly in poll data. Here is a sample of a Karl Rove poll .....

Here's another interesting tidbit .....
RealClearPolitics - 2012 Election Maps - Battle for White House (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html)
This is also quite interesting .....

Those are very interesting...for sure...do you recall what they said about 10 days ago ???
The Rove was only posted once but go back and check how the REAL CLEAR has changed.
Thanks for the validation
As I told you before....much too early for this...after the debates when somebody finally talks issues, then post them...that is ALL that counts.
I just posted this tonight because I know how much you love them
PS...I forgot to share this one and a few others..
"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Mitt Romney earning 47% of the vote and President Obama attracting 45% support. Three percent (3%) would vote for a third party candidate, while four percent (4%) are undecided.
Matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update)."
And these things mean nothing...I just know you follow them closely...I do not

When I first began looking at the RCP map, perhaps 1 month ago, the Likely and Lean Obama total was 227.
PA and NV are now likely Obama.

EVERY politican - at every level from local alderman to President of the United States - is a politican 24/7.
If you think otherwise, you are incredibly naive.
Where do you get this "is the single most political president in the history of our country"? Lemme guess ..... FAUX News ......

Obama is going to get re-elected. As I have said many times, "It does not matter who votes for whom, all that matters is who counts the votes."
With a Mexican owned company counting the votes and writing the software, don't take much of a guess of who will come out a head.

If Pres. Obama has attended 132 fundraisers for his political party, good for him. The last sentence of the posting says the taxpayer foots most of the bill whether the fundraiser is across the country or across the street. Of course the Secret Service and official travel is used. Do you want the President - no matter who - taking the Metro at rush hour by himself to the W Hotel to deliver a speech and then schlepping back to the White House by himself on the Metro after the speech?

In all honesty I want the President to be President.
To attend almost TWICE as many POLITICAL fundraisers as any other President
in these hard economic times at our expense gets my attention.
Perhaps there are those who do not care about something like this, but at the minimum, you would think the President would care.
I said it for a few years...the single most political president in history, and if that is ok with everyone thats fine. It is not with me, no matter the party.
"President Barack Obama has already held more re-election fundraising events than every elected president since Richard Nixon combined, according to figures to be published in a new book."
Book: Obama Held More Fundraisers Than Previous 5 Presidents Combined (http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/obama-fundraisers-clinton-reagan/2012/04/29/id/437440)
Taking your quote literally...."If Pres. Obama has attended 132 fundraisers for his political party, good for him" then we differ a great deal on judging the President while in office.
PS...Allow me to add this. While 2012 is an election year, the below link is from Dec, 2011..
On Wednesday, President Obama zipped up to New York City to attend three different fundraising events. Occupy Wall Street protesters greeted the president outside the Sheraton New York, the site of one of Obama's fundraisers, though New York police officers kept the demonstrators penned in what NYPD called "frozen zones."
"Sixty-nine fundraisers this year by December 1. That's an average of more than one fundraiser every five days. (Though, as Obama's latest Big Apple trip shows, these events are often clustered together on a single day.) This is a blistering pace of rainmaking for the 44th president in 2011.
Obama's fundraising activity surpasses that of predecessors George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. According to Brendan Doherty, a political scientist at the US Naval Academy, Bush attended 41 fundraisers between January 1, 2003 and November 30, 2003. Clinton attended 23 fundraisers from January 1, 1995 and November 30, 1995."
