Just a heads-up. If you need service for your cart, I highly recommend Shon Roberts owner of Five Star Golf Cart Service.
I called on him to look at the brakes on my Club Car. After a test drive he assured me there was nothing wrong with my brakes. He could have serviced the brakes which wouldn't have helped. He was very honest and straightforward. He didn't try to give me something I didn't really need.
I really appreciate not being sold a bill of goods.
He comes highly recommended.

I also recommend Shon, but not for the same reason. I bought a 2008 Club Car DS in January from a private seller that had older 4x12 volt batteries. Looking for maximum range, I wanted to convert to an 8x6 volt system. I talked to at least 8 different vendors and got 6 estimates on the project. Shon was the only one, (which he confidently predicted) that insisted I needed a different charger for the new system. I even talked to a tech at the battery charger manufacturer in my research, who could not say for sure either way whether a new charger was necessary or not.
Estimates ranged from $1500 to $2200 (plus tax). Because of the added cost of the new charger, Shon was easily the highest estimate. I almost never go with the highest priced vendor, but in this case, I felt like he knew something that others didn't.
I am extremely pleased with the results. I haven't done any range tests, so couldn't say (yet) how far it will go. I believe it is a bit faster, although Shon did not claim the project would increase the speed. But I am totally convinced that the man knows Club Car golf carts!

Shon's been my mechanic for a couple of years now, and I wouldn't dream of using anyone else.
As far as RKramer's comment.................anonymous poster can claim to be anything he wants to be and claim any expertise he wants to claim.
I know Shon.

Sorry to say, you didnt need a new charger.
The charger is rated at 48 volts and number of cells. 4 twelve volts is 48 volts and 24 cells, 6 eight volt batteries is 48 volts and 24 cells.
I have over 30 years in the battery/charger industry.
You are correct. No guess work, just fact. Bye the way, under the circumstances above, I don't know Shon, but unless there is a piece of information missing, he was wrong about the charger needing replaced and it cost the customer unnecessary money.
