Golf Cart Rental RIPOFF!

We rented a golf cart from $$$$ 1st Cart Rental. Owner's name is Marc. The rental period was from mid March until May 30. On May 8, Marc was in the area picking up another cart when he decided to take my cart too. My cart was parked in my next door neighbor's driveway (with their permission). Marc went on their property, took the cart and was very nasty to us. He refused to rebate us for the time we do not have the cart. He drove on another neighbor's grass and just laughed about it.
Do not rent from him. He is disrespectful and a ripoff!

If you have a valid contract, it seems that you would be responsible for this cart until May 30. You could consider it stolen.

Did you pay by credit card?
You can dispute the amount.

I notice you are relatively new to this forum. It's very informative, as you can see. However, we sometimes have people who condemn a business for one or more reasons, and others take the information as gospel truth.

It has happened a number of times that the original critics were not telling the whole story, and that the business was not being unreasonable.

I think it's more fair to give a business the chance to respond before I make up my mind that they should be avoided.

Agenda .... what is your agenda? Welcome to the Villages "kids" all of us are not that "welcoming". And as far as the cart rental or any other Villages business is concerned that is reviewed here my take is if there are dozens of businesses that provide this service and I read where you had a problem with them I'm going to pick another rental company simple as that.

The best thing about this site is a business can be called the best of the best the downside is you could lose everything as a business if you get a bad posting. Knowing this why would a company do this and know that the TOTV people would be reading this five minutes after it happens.(I am giving a five minutes rule cause you need to boot up). Not saying this did or did not happen but waiting for a response from thekids or the owner. One post does not do it for me.:Screen_of_Death:

Any such post is great if it's factual and tells the full story.

You're in the court of public opinion.

Folks that post negative feedback need to be sure it is truthful, you really can effect the livelihood of a biz and it's owners/employees.
If not you can be liable for defamation.

Why would the rental guy just decide to pick up the golf cart????? Makes no sense. I have rented several times from various people and never had a problem. Not buying it.:police:
