In his usual fashion, Mark Morse thanked those in attendance for being Villagers!

He rattled off a lot of weird and fascinating statistics about TV. One or two I noted especially:

* One day in 2011, there were 11,208 rounds of golf played!

* In all of 2011, there were 1,832 holes-in-one!

* Villages Charter School ranked 9th in the state.

* 90% of the senior class will go to college.

* Some 39% of Villagers returned their USF Health Survey. Probably a record return.

* Folks who sold their homes in 2011 averaged a 2.1% return on investment, whereas national average is more like a negative 20%

They showed a video updating us on Brownwood; an edited version of what some have seen on V-Mail.

His sister Tracey Matthews spoke a little about the new recreation centers, including the Eisenhower Regional which will be dedicated to the military.

No mind-blowing news this year (i.e., no new programs, nothing like last year's USF affiliation).

As always, the theatre was fill, there was a good crowd in the overflow rooms, too.

Last night at our Laurel Valley meeting our village VHA rep reported that there had been a change of plans about building another hospital at Brownwood and that "they" thought having a much bigger hospital might attract more good doctors so they were planning to enlarge the Sharon Morse hospital by adding another tower and making that hospital 500 beds. And also building a parking garage adjacent to it.

It sounded positive to me.

Not exactly on subject.

Didn't have to watch it on t.v. as we went to the actual meeting. I thought it was informative and somewhat interesting. Some of the info wasn't new to us, but some of it was. We liked seeing for ourselves the Morse family and having them introduced to us...at least the ones who were available. Nothing came up negative to us!

How can I receive updates on the Hospital plans. Less than 2 yrs before becoming a frog but I will need to work (nurse) to support my "Lilly pad". I sure would like a couple of resources that work at the hospital? Would anyone consider being a pen pal?

RichieLion, Add my thanks for posting this list of facts about TV. I have saved this list to my computer hard drive. I have been trying to explain to my extended family what TV is like. One sister thinks I will be blown away by a hurricane if I move to TV. The other sister thinks I will be eaten by an alligator (just kidding)... :)

Is anyone able to post a link so we can view the report? On the Virginia Trace site, you can click on the 2011 report by Mark (and others). It was very interesting and we would like to see this years get together as well! Thanks in advance.

Richie,
Another big thanks!

I have two questions about item #74:

74) All homes must be occupied by at least one person who is 55 years of age or older.

To quality as a 55+ community, at least 80 percent of the residences must be occupied by at least one person 55 or older. Has TV decided to require 100 percent rather than just 80 percent? If so, does anybody know when that change?
Although item #74 states that "all homes must be occupied by at least one person who is 55 years of age or older," I wonder if that means all new homes. In other words, are existing TV homeowners restricted by law or covenant to selling only to buyers with one intended occupant over 55?
