At 9:45 PM it looks like one huge puffy towering cloud full of lightning just stationary over Ocala. Too far away to hear the thunder tho.

Trying to figure if it was Ocala or Gainesville, couldn't hear the thunder but it just goes on and on and on. I wonder how many lightning strikes it would add up to?

Lovin' our front porch.

How spectacular! We were watching tv on our lanai and we happened to look out to the sky and we couldn't believe the lightening! We have never seen it like this. I told my husband that it looked like fireworks. It was really neat...until it gets too close.....

Lovin' our front porch.Zanesville? Isn't that in Ohio? Anyway, I saw the lightning from of all places our guest bathroom window. Shocking huh? From my position I used Google to get a bearing on the direction I was looking toward and it came to the east of Ocala in line with the Ocala National Forest. I've seen a lot of lightning over the years but not as consistant or frequent as this series of bolts!

South of 466A it seemed to be a different show, pretty much straight out to the East.

It looked to be inter and/or intra cloud lightning, what we used to call "heat lightning". Or, when flying in SEAsia, "Anvil Crawlers". Because it's normally so high up in the clouds, the show can be seen for great distances....much farther than the sound can travel before dissipating. Thus, the appearance of no thunder. And few strikes.

Another tidbit from the BostonCelt Library Of Useless Information....

I watched that show last night for about 45 minutes...I just couldn't turn away...it was absolutely mesmerizing.

I did give a big thanks to the man above for creating, producing and making that show possible!

No rain. Today I came home from Crispers and found Sweetie getting out of the golf cart soaking wet. It rained buckets in Mallory but only a few drops at Crispers. This is a funny place.

I get more news and info from Gracie than the Sun. Maybe the Sun could save time and just use Gracie for their info. My :ho: to you for making my day Gracie
