Sad News CarGuys Syracuse NY

[CarGuys]

Some people have wondered where I have been on TOTV recently. Which I am sure some rejoice at. LOL

CarGuys. It comes from Herv and Dave " The CarGuys"

David and I met at Alfred Ag and Tech Automotive College in 1975. We have worked together every since.

As Technicians then Vocational Teachers. We worked with NYS and trained Idependant Repair Technicians for over 10 years in Electrical, Emissions, Computers and Fuel Injection. Co- Authored three books together.

We have been in the Syracuse NY media market as " The CarGuys " since 1985.

David at 57 years old lost his battle with cancer Tuesday 8 PM . He died at home with myself and his family around him.

I debated to Post this on TOTV but somehow this is helping me deal with the greif that many of you I am sure have experienced.

The loss of such a close friend can be overwhelming in the beginning but know that eventually all the fond shared memories will be there to comfort you , as well as his surviving family.

We wish we could keep them all with us forever......but it's not possible.

As a person trained in grief support I can say that it is very helpful to tell of your greif. Until you take ownership of the grief you cannot work through it. My condiolences on your loss. I will keep the whole family in my prayers.

Oh Herv, I just read your note about losing Dave, and I'm so very sorry for your loss. Now he is at peace. What a wonderful friendshp you shared! You will see him again, but in the meantime, I know that you will grieve for him.

Well let me say I am absolutely overwhelmed with the thoughts and support from folks on TOTV.

I held it in for awhile but I must admit that to let the grief out sure helps.

You were all with me Friday as I tried to hold it all together to give a good memories talk at his funeral. As I talked to family in the front row and all those grieving in the funeral there was poor old Dave behind me.

In the Bucket List " Chock full of Nuts Can!" or so he used to kid me about as David was cremeated. My thoughts were flashing back to last July when I sent him a Pic of Ruth and I on our new Sand Lot.

He knew then his time was limited but he still mustered a txt response. Herv- " I'm so happy you have fond a place to be with friends and find a new life" Just watch out for those Gators!

And while I hold back the tears from those words. I type to you all knowing David is at peace and I am moving on. July is close. I will be coming Home.
