It was great to meet ya'll and to put faces to the names. It was also rewarding to share my good news about adopting Little Bear. When I got home, I was greeted as the long lost conquering hero - :)
As so many of you said today, TOTV is a wonderful resource for all those questions we have about TV. I was a "lurker" for about 6 months prior to persuading hubby to enjoy a Lifestyle visit. Wouldnt you know, after arranging a "meet n greet" with fellow actors - all through contacts on TOTV, by the end of our second day, we were looking at houses, then lots. We returned to VA being the proud owners of a dirt pile, and our choice of homes to be constructed. OMG, what a scramble then ensued. All that clearning out (talk about Sally Army donations) yard sales, give-aways, and packing, packing, packing. We adore living here, but now have to start all over again with putting our home in VA back on the market. Our would be buyers, backed out. ..... :shrug:There is always a reason, and we are resigned to the task.
Anywho, look forward to meeting all my TOTV pals again next time. Sandra

A great meeting today at Crispers. Everyone introduced themselves and it was nice to see people in person. When I was introduced I heard no boo's which is a good sign. I met Gracie and her daughter Helen for the first time. Sorry "Sweetie" couldn't make it.

What a nice " meet and greet" we had at Crispers today!
It was so nice to see some "oldies" but especially nice to meet the many "newbies" and share enthusiasm! Thanks KathieI for being a "hostess with the mostest"!

Great! I surely wanted to be there. Maybe in June. Did anyone take any pictures or should I look on the news at 6 o'clock?
Any good fights? Any poop for Bill-N? How many people? How long did it last? Details, man, details.

Wasn't it fun... I had a blast. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends here on TOTV. Most people talk about getting great information from this forum,,, I, myself, just love the people...
To those who did come, thank you, and to those who are still not in this wonderful place yet, I hope you can get here soon.
It was so interesting to hear everyone talk about their backgrounds and how they arrived here.
The turn out was fantastic,,, I think Nancy counted about 35 people... Thanks to all for your being there.

Capt,,, there might be a few pictures, they were taken by Villages07 and she may post them.
We had about 35 people, many newbies and a few oldies... No fights,, lol... sorry Bill, maybe when you get here, we'll start a brawl, hahahaha.
We started at 3pm and just about everyone left around 4:30. We sat outside and had a very small sprinkling of rain for about 3 seconds. Everyone stood up and introduced themselves and gave some history about where they came from and how long they've been here. Quite interesting and lots of fun. We'll look forward to seeing you in June....

I'm sorry Shimpy... maybe I should go back to posting reminders about a week before so everyone can see its coming up. Been too busy lately keeping up with my village activities and am being very bad. So sorry, I'll post it for next month and EXPECT to see ya there.... :beer3:

Sorry I missed it today, but some people have to keep the carts in the villages
going and Friday is a tough day. Sounds like fun and would love to meet you all.

I merged the 3 Crispers outcome threads into one. The systems puts all the posts in chronological order... hopefully, replies will still make sense.

Great turnout today ... a lot of newcomers.
OK, goal #1 is complete...pictures are posted before Kathie gets home from dancing tonight (heck, she probably hasn't even gone out yet!!)
It was a late rush job to get pix and the lighting in the patio stinks, but, at least it is photo proof of today's luncheon for those who could not attend.

Great job with the pictures. What is also nice is that for the most part the people in the pictures are identified. That is really helpful.

Such a wonderful afternoon! How fast time flew by! Barely enough time to match the many new faces to the familiar names that we see each time we log on to TOTV.
MANY thanks to KathyI and to Villages07!!!
Howard, when you go off in a response, we will try not to look behind the curtain and expose you as the really nice, decent, and cordial guy that you are
And "swineflu", I'll try to look older by the next time we meet but no promises! From what I saw, the life, love, and laughs one shares with the TOTV family, whether on a patio or in a forum, causes one to look, think, and act younger, not older.

I'd like to encourage y'all to think positively about our high school teenagers! I followed up yesterday's highly successful TOTV luncheon by attending Leesburg High School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps awards banquet at Venetian Gardens, Leesburg's Community Center.
It was my mission to present a special award as well as a $500 scholarship to outstanding cadets.
These kids inspire me! Especially when so many, if not most, are vilified as being uncaring, unthinking, uneducated, and a whole slew of other "uns."
Sorry. Something of a subject highjack, I guess! :throwtomatoes:

We went to Crispers lasy night at I noticed that they can now accept tips. I know that the group from TOTV would collect money to give to the Crispers employees for the trouble of serving a group of some size, it now looks like we can do this when we visit Crispers at other times too.

I noticed that too, Tal. Publix used to own Crispers but sold it...so, likely the new owners have a different tipping policy. As an aside, I had the soup and half sandwich combo after the meeting.... The soup was barely warm and the sandwich very sloppily assembled and not as tasty as when I've had it before. No, I didn't talk to the manager and just hope and assume it was an aberration. But, with new ownership, something to keep an eye on. Regardless, Crispers is a great venue for our monthly meetings and we appreciate them accommodating us.

The food we got yesterday was OK-- a big salad, an Asiago Beef Sandwich, and half a Turkey Sandwich. Once In a while, we get a Crispers entry that is below standards, but only rarely.
