Have a nine year old Sony, 36" , Trinitron Wega, television that is starting to cut out. Something is apparently heating up inside a circuit board and it is shutting down. I have wanted to get a larger TV and did. Now, how do I get rid of the old one, which has a great picture (when it is working). It weighs a ton and includes a custom base that holds recievers DVD, etc. All free!
Anyone want it or have an idea of how to get rid of it?

Best Buy in Lady Lake has a wonderful recycling program. They accept TV's but call them first because they have different rules depending on the size. They will even pick it up (for a fee)352-674-2039. If that doesn't work out , google Earth911, which lists several other places in Ocala that accept TV's and other electronics. I have not used Best Buy but I have donated old electronics in Ocala.

You're welcome. Thanks for recycling. There's also a Sumter County Freecycle website that I use. You must be giving the item away but it goes to people who usually can't afford new items. People are always posting what they need or you can just post what you are willing to give away and the person will come pick it up (or meet you in town square if you don't feel comfortable giving your address.

Best Buy does not take anything bigger that 32". I called Sumter County (352-748-0109)
They will pick it up at the curb. Just call them to schedule. They send a truck and will do so M-F.
