Can't tell .......... Are you referring to the bridge repair work in California?

If you are, check your facts, because you have no idea what you are talking about !!!!!!

Do you Cons even think before you post? Or do you hear something on Faux and run to your computer without having a clue?

I dont think this lies directly at Obama's feet, but it brings to for the concern for the future as he DOES support the Trans Pacific Partnership which is being done in real secret sessions.

Concerns on this are much environmental but also it probably will restrict our ability to enforce at all the made in america laws, which is probably at the root of what you are talking about.

Look up the Trans Pacific Partnership....this is an excerpt related to your concern from todays news...

"Threats to American workers. While free trade agreements are often sold as job-creators, the evidence simply doesn't stack up. For example, the Economic Policy Institute has found that nearly 700,000 U.S. jobs were lost as a result of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The TPP would likely give foreign corporations greater rights than domestic ones, providing an incentive for U.S. corporations to leave home and set up shop abroad. The TPP would also severely limit the U.S. government's ability to set policies that would boost our domestic economy, such as giving preference to American goods or American workers in government contracts."

The OP is NOT talking about the Trans Pacific Partnership. This thread is about the the accusation that Obama is repairing bridges in this country by hiring China.

Which is a blatant lie ................

BTW, I haven't seen any photos of Obama actually repairing bridges. Maybe the OP can post a link?

I will try and explain to some poster why I brought up the Trans Pacific.

The bridges being built are being built by China and the question is not so much where the money came from. Last I read at lease one was NOT from federal money which is what the OP is talking about, but most think the problem is the weakening of the requirement to be american made and that seems to be the problem facing California.

It seems to me reasonably then that a discussion of the actual issue promoting China to be successful might be up for discussion.

I am sorry I jumped to Obama defense. Some of us are here to discuss the actual issues involved in what posters are talking about.

Actually, the issue IS where the $$ comes from. If it is not federal dollars, the state can contract whomever they want.

Then we dont know for sure...could be federal funds !!!! Last I read on this, only one of the jobs were confirmed NOT federal.

And you can defend him all you want...my intent is to find out about JOBS and where they go and how. NOT who is at fault of who is not. Obviously if someone is costing us jobs, we gotta know but I could care less it is a democrat or republican...Obama or whoever.

the jobs loss or not regained is not limited to just China. There is little, more like none, activity by the current administration to encourage US companies to stop farming out American jobs to China and other countries.

Jeff Immelt heads and has headed a jobs task force reporting to Obama...just check to see how much work has been shipped to China by GE.

Do a little more research and find out how much automotive work has been shipped to China, specifically by GM.

If jobs were truly a priority and not just something that is given lip service, there are very easy initiatives that could be undertaken by Obama and congress to incent keeping jobs here in the USA and in fact bringing jobs back to America.

That is not happening. Jobs is an issue that is ONLY talked about with nothing being done to make it happen. This in my opinion is working against Obama, finally. Many more people are watching every day where there are words put forth with no follow up.

Obama feels he has addressed an issue when he TALKS about it. Kinda like a cheerleader leaving the job to be done to someone else.
