Well, today was a big day for us. Our townhouse in a suburb northwest of Syracuse went up for sale today and now the fun begins. The realtor loves the house, and we priced it below his estimate. The market here for houses like ours has never been bad, and has improved significantly over the past three or four months. We arranged for a large dumpster a couple weeks ago, and made a big dent on our accumulation of “stuff”. Carloads of donations went to local charities too. We finished updating two baths and the kitchen, stained the deck, and Linda planted new flowers and shrubs, which all look really good. In fact the house looks the best it’s looked in ten years, and Linda is now wondering why we are leaving. Her work is done June 8, and my voluntary layoff date will be July 24, and we expect to be outa here about two weeks later. Regardless of the house sale, we plan to be renting a CYV in TV during August and September, just to chill out for a couple of months to ease into this next phase in our lives. The workaholic in me is a little bit nervous about the end of work after 45 years of non-stop employment, starting at age 17, but we’ll figure it all out. This is really exciting, and we can’t wait for this next chapter of life to get going. We are lucky and can't wait to join you all in The Villages.
