All through the summer, their weekday breakfast specials include Mimosas for just 50 cents.

I ordered one with a bug fluffy Belgian waffle and a side of bacon and the bill came to $5.87 with tax. Enjoyed it on the veranda with the morning paper and a cool breeze. Gottta love it.

I guess they're looking to bring in customers who might be deterred by the construction. Bon Appetit!

Thanks for posting this. My rental home next month is close to SS, and I enjoyed the food at Athens when I rented last year.

I believe they are 50 cents on Saturday's also.

They have another drink for 50 cents - looked like cranberry juice and some booze.

I was there Memorial Day morning and there were about ten tables with customers outside and Katie Belle's had only two tables of outside with diners. I like Katie Belle's breakfasts too but it seems Athens now does more breakfast business. Originally, I started going to Athens because it wasn't as crowded as KB's.

Wonder if the cheap drinks are while SS is being worked on

I'm guessing the cheap drinks are because Katie Belle's sometimes has drinks for under a buck with their breakfast.

They should get free rent for the month because of construction is going on their. Spanish Springs will be a ghost town, these businesses such a shame what they're doing to them this is last gasp of breath for Spanish springs... I'm sure once the new square opens Spanish Springs will be ghost town trying to pump more life into it. Great drink price! Owner is a great guy who works very hard.....

I don't believe Brownwood will have as much impact on Spanish Springs as Lake Sumter Landing does. Brownwood is too far away from SS to be an issue.

You got that right. You'll have to pack a lunch to go out to dinner down there.
