We are meeting with T & D in July and have been looking at several of the pools in the model videos. Really like those concrete columns, opens up view from bird cage a lot. Anyone have recent experience with this, like it? Is it worth the additional cost?
Thanks

I think it is only a cosmetic choice. Although in a tornado, the bird cage might go and the columns remain :) It is a pricey upgrade to say the least but, in the end, we ended up getting them. We just preferred the look.

Just out of curiosity, how much do the columns cost? We just came back from a week's visit to TV and loved the look of them. We are planning to put in a small pool with birdcage, but those columns look not only more decorative, but potentially would hold up better in strong winds.

T & D said they have significant structural purpose which is why they can space them 10-12' apart instead of the usual 5' space between the aluminum columns. Sure opens up the view.

I really can't remember how much they were but I think they were apx $1800 a column. I know they weren't more than that.

We went with the columns, I think they add to the beauty of a pool. Hey, ya only go around once! They cost around $1700/each.

Hmmmn. I wonder if they have gone up in price. How long ago did you build?

We closed May 9th and our pool columns were 2,000 each. To us, it was well worth it. It really makes it look "kingdom" like and we love the look. You have to go with what works for you. I have seen some light colored homes with a white cage and it really looked nice. However, the white will show the dirt more than the darker color cage. It will turn out beautiful which ever one you choose.

We have a pool and although we don't have columns because we don't have a stucco home, we love the look of the columns!!

No matter what you do , you won't regret putting the pool in!! It's the best thing we ever did. Make sure you get the over-spill feature, a waterfall is nice, a salt pool is fabulous, and just having your own peace and quiet and not worry about the bugs etc.. you will be very happy!! Congratulations and Enjoy !! It's worth every penny!!

I liked the columns my wife liked the bronze cage.
Saving $20,000 amazingly changed my mind to the bronze cage.
Funny how that works.
