Let's focus on Florida politics for a little bit. Too much corruption in Florida. In fact, most put Florida at #1 (yea, we're number 1!) in corrupt government among states. Education-wise, Florida is ranked #44 in terms of high school graduation rankings. It is time to start cleaning up Florida politics and that means getting rid of the Rickpublicans.

Rickpublicans Hall of Fame | Rickpublicans (http://www.rickpublicans.com/rickpublicans-spotlight)It's a shame that we got rid of a really good governor, Charlie Crist, just because he hugged Barack Obama. That kind of shows the shallowness of the thought process of the electorate, the result that thoughtless hatred can have--and the effectiveness of attack ads. Remember those attack ads? They worked didn't they? And not to our advantage it turns out.

I never visited the link supplied, which for me is very rare. It is one of those sites set up strictly to abuse a political figure...like OBAMALIES.COM or some such thing.

I would guess that almost every governor in the country (although) I do not know has one of these set up by the opposing faction.

Then after reading that site you, go after attack ads ?

I am in no way a supporter of Scott, but am a protestor of such sites even those aimed at Obama....trite, narrow, immature , HOWEVER it seems to be the norm.

If there is a specific issue, great, but not a site like this one.

"A new study by a journalism/watchdog organization gives the state of Florida a C- — not great, but not horrible, 18th overall — for the integrity of its political process. (Although that might be surprising to Broward residents who have seen one public official after another marched off to jail: The study focuses on the state level and looks at structure — not heads on a platter.)"

This is from the Miami Herald in March of this year.

Integrity index gives Florida politics a C- - Florida - MiamiHerald.com (http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/18/2701559/integrity-index-gives-florida.html)

This might be a more unbiased look at state politics.

when ever subjects or issues like enumerating position or ranking, I always look for the second half of the information being presented....which is usually never presented....those three magical words that stump and stop generalists cold.....AS MEASURED BY......

the worst in the country or the 18th this or that, as measured by........

Some rate the information based on who it is supplied by......I am more interested in the means used to reach the conclusion.

I totally agree...I think culture, race, etc are items that need to be inclluded. I think the highest rate is IOWA....ok !

Plus found this...now either the Orlando Sentinel is making stuff up or..

"Florida's high school graduation rate climbed again and hit another all-time high this year at 80.1 percent, the state announced this morning. In 2007, the state's graduation rate was 70.3 percent.

The improved graduation rate for the 2010-11 school year follows a six-year trend of a growing percentage of Florida students earning diplomas, the Florida Department of Education said."

This from Dec 2011

Florida high school graduation rate: Florida's high school graduation rate highest ever - Orlando Sentinel (http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2011-12-12/news/os-florida-high-school-graduation-rate-20111212_1_graduation-rate-rate-for-black-students-percentage-points)

Could be as you say BTK....what exactly did you use to measure ??

Just again....I would not use a "hate" site as my source for anything.

The other aspect of this thread was corruption...the thread starter said. in his opening post

"Too much corruption in Florida. In fact, most put Florida at #1 (yea, we're number 1!) in corrupt government among states"

I found a study from ABC News and this is part of it.......this is current by the way from March

From pay-to-play politics to dismal campaign disclosure requirements, America’s fifty state governments have been weighed, measured and found wanting when it comes to ethical lawmaking."

"Eight states — Georgia, Michigan, Maine, North Dakota, South Dakota, South Carolina, Virginia and Wyoming — got failing grades. Only five earned B’s: New Jersey, Connecticut, Washington, California and Nebraska."

Political Corruption: 8 States Earn Failing Grades - ABC News (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/03/political-corruption-8-states-earn-failing-grades/)

Florida is not mentioned at all so ABC blew right by it !!!

Wow! You must be proud to be a Floridapublican!

Look at this link and see what you think. Scott Maxwell on Florida corruption: Ignoring Florida's rampant corruption costs you money - Orlando Sentinel (http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2011-06-04/news/os-scott-maxwell-corruption-060511-20110604_1_dishonest-government-officials-legislators-front-page-ads)

Take care of the state first and then argue about the President.

Buggy, based on all that I have read in this post, Florida is not as bad as you make out. (I expected that)

I am an independant.

I would never be a "Proud" Democrap.

See you at the ballot box.

We have a president who obviously does not believe in states rights THUS I find your arguement flawed.

Whether or not you think Charlie Crist was a good Governor (I don't), he is no longer Governor because he did not seek reelection, he instead ran for the US Senate.
