Has anyone out there tried shock absorbers for their golf cart? Do they actually make the ride nicer, or are they a waste of time and money?

Don't think I would waste the time/money to do shocks. I would just keep the suspension as it was built. We can't go all that fast and you don't hit pot holes all that much to cause the wheels to bounce up and down.

IMO, If you have the steel factory rims and tires and want a better ride. Try a upgraded set of wheels and tires. The shocks will not fix the out of round factory tires.

I think we don't notice the bumps any more now that we have a cushy seat in our cart. We did notice it much more when we had our old seats.

Brand spanking new Yamaha, 2 seater. Rides just like most other newer carts, but hubby is a tinkerer and wonders if he can improve the ride. So I thought I'd ask around a bit before he goes to all the trouble.

That cart should have shocks f/r already, if you think it's too hard or soft a ride - try increasing/decreasing the tire pressure a bit.
Being new I wouldn't change the shocks.
