hulahips - sharing your knowledge and opinions will surely be welcome...sharing personal attacks on other poster's and/or their political opinions - NOT.

Welcome, @hulahips. I look forward to seeing you in political. Talk of the Villages is under new ownership and management. I haven't participated as much since the new ownership took over only because I've been busy in real life, and nothing to do with the site. I'm still undecided what I think about the censorship and modding to be honest. Anyway, welcome and come join us in Political.

Just so you know. If someone makes fun of the thought you presented, or twists your words or your ideas in your post, and you respond directly to them, it is your post that will be considered a "personal post".

hulahips - i think this is the bottom line to which richielion's post refers:
from the admin - a sticky:
https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/villages-florida-general-discussion-73/notice-users-52137/
"It seems recently there have been some postings that are disrespectful, sarcastic, negative, or don't add any value to the discussions. Unfortunately, this can be the nature of social networking sites/forums in general. TOTV Admin/Moderators strive and have asked that all users keep comments centric to the topic and NEVER direct comments in any way, shape, or form toward another user.
"We will be stepping up on maintaining this spirit and will be issuing 'account infractions' when a post is disrespectful, sarcastic, or negative directly or indirectly toward another user. If an account exceeds the number of infraction points allowed the account and IP address will receive a suspension and/or permanent ban from the site.
"The majority of users on the site are wonderful and are not part of these issues. But in all fairness, we wanted to post a general announcement regarding this so the expectations were posted for all.
"Thanks everyone for your support and making TOTV what it is today!"
