Will try to keep a very long story short but I am trying to get info about a company that was subcontracted to finish landscaping and fix sprinklers after having construction done last November. Earthscape came to do the job and midday said they would be back later to finish . They never returned. 6 months later we received a bill for$850 for the JOB. Of course we called the company immediately. Aft several weeks and several calls someone finally came out to see THE JOB. After another long wait they came back and put out contractors sand to put down the sod and were coming back in a few days to do so. 2 weeks went by with more phone calls. The only response was a new bill in the mail for $1050 dollars.$200 more than the original bill and still no sod. Not to mention the original sprinkler work that was never done. More phone calls more time goes by finally a visit quite unexpectedly from the owner of the company. End result he left saying that he would talk to his attorneys as we had breached a verbal contract??????? There is obviously a lot more work that went in to getting this resolved on our part than I can put here.
Here is my question. Does anyone know anything at all about this company. We have been told by more than one person on the other end of the phone that there have been a lot of mix ups in the past year because the company was owned by 2 brothers. Apparently we delt with the brother that has left and started his own business . His name is Billy Gruber. The brother we are now dealing with is David. Any info ,especially about "Billy's Company" would be greatly appreciated.

They were subcontracted by the company that did the construction so no specific contract withies personally. All other work done by Brian Terry Vinyl was exceptional . We have been here almost 7 years and he was by far the best company we have worked with and we have had tons of work and upgrades by different people inside and outside the house.
We know how to reach them just trying to find someone else that has used them with a good or bad experience. The Villages also contracted with them for a drainage problem when we bought 5 years ago. When the boss came out for this current issue he asked what company did such a terrible job on the French drain that runs through our yard he could help fix that too. He was very embarrassed and surprised to find it was him!

If they are sub-contracted how can they bill you, how can you breach a contract made between two other parties.

You may need to talk to a lawyer before proceeding.

They never return phone calls. No matter how many times the girl promises she will have him call. I would avoid them.

I just responded about Earthscapes regarding something a little different on a separate blurb. They landscaped our entire property; that was when Ellen was there and she left their employ about a month or so ago.

I have read a number of comments where Villagers have said they don't return phone calls, etc. We were fortunate enough that we had a good experience with what they did, including our sprinklers. Nothing was subbed out; they did it all.

It's very sad that Papa Muzzy is having such a terrible time with them. I hope he can work things out without a lot of anxiety and $$.

We plan to do more landscaping, however, because Ellen is not there, we will be going elsewhere. I trusted her and she never let us down.

Earthscapes did our landscaping and sprinklers. We closed on Feb 12 and called to get the orientation on the sprinklers etc.

They were too backed up to accomodate us. We were only in town for a week for our closing, so we left with no instructions on our sprinkler controls. Not very comforting.

we will not be back until mid May, and will either have dead grass or a huge water bill. Don't know which to expect.

We really wish the sprinkler controls were outside by the water meter,so that we could have them come and adjust if needed, But we were not about to leave our key with their company.

Hope they get their act together before we return.. We would like the orientation that we should have rec'd at closing.......bummer.....Hope it'snot too late and we have to re sod..that's my big fear!

You can do the programming yourself Hunter has U tube videos of every option you can set it's very simple.

None of these installers tell you of these options, they keep it very simple because we are old and too dumb to understand

Tri county did mine they spent 10 minutes after I watched the U tube instructions I found how incorrectly they set it up.

Also U need to add a 9V battery to the unit so you don't lose your setting.

It is a great system, remember the best time of day to start the watering is early am about 5 or so not at night like see so many kick on, that can cause problems.

The zones with rotators need twice the time of standard head sprays.

DO NOT bypass the rain sensor.......

I've had earthscapes for almost 4 years and always had my calls returned and have not had any complaints so far. I hope the company is not having any problems, I really don't want to have to look for someone else.
