My sales rep gave me the contact at Citizens, I had an email request to talk with them real quick. My rep should learn that trick

I know the connection the bank & TV, must be a kick back in there.

But what other lenders are worth checking out?

Citizens Bank is owned by the Morses.

I have heard it said many times that over half do not have mortgages.

We originally intended to have no mortgage, but the crash of the real estate market caused a u-turn in that theory. We have ours through BB&T, who had our mortgage in VA also, and with whom we do all our banking. Their customer service and on-line banking options are excellent. We got a 15 year mortgage at 3% and no points (did include some service fee type items). We close on July 5, so this is pretty current info.

Jim,

I do what I always do, I get a few opinions. I got quotes from a couple of places that we have savings (Wachovia and Bank of America) and also Citizens.

In the end BoA was the lowest cost for closing and interest.

My experience at Citizens was very positive, but in the end they could not match BoA.

We first started a mortgage process with a bank that was located both here in TV and in NY where we moved from. We then looked into Citizens First and was impressed enough that we changed and got our mortgage through them. We closed 17 months ago and we haven't regretted it for a second. We were equally impressed with their regular banking services. We like having our primary banking all in one location as well as the functionality of their online service, especially the online bill paying feature. If we had to do it again, we wouldn't change a thing!

I have pre-approval with Citizens.( they were nice enough to send my and my wife's credit scores to us) and I've been pre- approved by Everbank headquarters Jacksonville, FL .

When the time comes (hopefully sooner than later) I'll check to see their current deal. Seems to me banks and mortgage companies will change their policies from time to time based on current market conditions etc.

I like to deal with banks although there is nothing wrong with mortgage companies. Just my hang up.

Good luck!

We used Citizens First Mortgage the first time here and Citizens First Mortgage this time. They are great to deal with.

Boa is our bank no points and less interest Our closing was $3700 less then Citizens wanted. If you go out of the box TV will punish you if you are a day late closing.

I first spoke with Citizens, and then with Everhome Mortgage in Jacksonville, FL. We have had experience with Everhome. Everhome beat out Citizens on rates, and Everhome will pay for our appraisial. Can't lock in any rate in until 60 days before closing.
