Military Suicide Rate Surges To Nearly One Per Day This Year (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/07/military-suicide-surges-_n_1578821.html)
Arming people with preventive mental health information--
This has been a very unpopular idea in my attempts but I would think that getting the medical and public libraries in this country to post links to mental health websites would be a step with educating the public about the realities of mental illness.
I have taken a few steps over the past decade or more with this idea by e-mailing some libraries to put in links for mental health resources but seemed to get absolutely no where with this approach.
The above linked article about the increasing number of suicides of military personnel in 2012 does go into the stigma still attached to those people who have mental health problems.
