I either donate blood, double red blood cells, or platelets depending on their needs and/or my health.
Try to do this every 8 weeks or so. Sometimes more often if they need AB- platelets.
Not sure what you receive now for donating on the Big Red Bus but at their new location next to Whole Earth Pet Supply, Publix, and First Watch, you can choose a Darden or a RaceTrack gift card.

I keep trying but they can't seem to find a decent vein here. They had problems in California, but they always got my blood. I'm disappointed that they can't get it here, especially since I'm AB neg. But I'll keep trying.

The New Covenant United Methodist Church blood drive is this afternoon. I donated a while back on one of these Big Red Buses and got a free movie ticket via Fandango (closest theaters you can use these tickets are Ocala's Regal and those in Orlando), a bowling ticket for a lane near Ocala, and some other stuff. Free Movie Ticket - Florida's Blood Centers, A Not-For-Profit 501(c)(3) Company (http://floridasbloodcenters.org/movie/)

I have donated around 5 gallons so far in my life.

Yeah, they are always giving things away, hoping to get people to donate blood. I always find it so sad, because they cant make blood, so if it's not donated, they never have enough. I'm glad to see that they are having more frequent blood drives in TV
Thanks to all those who donate blood.

Thanks for trying and please keep trying. i am not able to donate every time I go, but I have been donating a few times a year since I was a teen and I'll keep going. There is always a shortage of blood and the only way they can get it, is if people donate it.
Thanks to all who donate blood.

My iron is sometimes too low to donate. So, once in a while I cannot donate either. I hate needles too but just look away when they stick these into my arm.
