Does anyone have a good web site that showes the various rain amounts around The Villages? I understand several Rec Centers around TV have weather reporting devices. Does anyone know where this info can be accessed?

Here's a site that should give you what you're looking for:

Weather Forecast Lady Lake, FL | Lady Lake Weather | Wunderground (http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=zmw:32159.1.99999)

This link will display info for Lady Lake. At the top of the detailed area of info for Lady Lake, click the Station Select button. From that, you can select the various airport reporting stations in the area as well as "Nearby Weather Stations" to see the detail, etc. for them. These are the locations I believe you're looking for. Alternately, you can simply scroll waaaaay down on the Lady Lake page and see summary lines of data for each of those Weather Stations as well. Click any of them to see further individual station details.

I believe the various Nearby Weather Stations are actually homeowner-type of weather stations where the individuals choose to link their data to the Wunderground web site:

Personal Weather Stations | Worldwide Weather Station Project | Weather Underground (http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/index.asp)

Hope that helps! Enjoy - - - -

Or another way to find out how much rain we got is ask me. My rain gauge is in santo domingo village. So far for the month of june i got approx five and 1/4 inches. I dont have one of those million dollar gauges so i just round it off to the nearest quarter inch every time i empty it. Last year in june we only got 2 and 1/2 inches. I just keep the totals from may thru sept.

Go here:
CoCoRaHS - Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network (http://www.cocorahs.org/)
You will find maps and rainfalls for any area of the US. There are several stations in The Villages that report daily rainfall and you can see it all here.

Tom thanks for your info. I hope you don't mind if I ask the totals occasionally. I have a home in Alhambra but are in Wisconsin til November.
I did notice someone has a weather station registered in Santa Domingo on weatherunderground. Is that you?

I love reading the rain and farm report from everyone. Makes me laugh. But it seems that the rain makes some a little crabby..

You can also try Accuweather.com and type in Lady Lake for daily rainfall amounts. I'm not sure where their gauge is located in Lady Lake but some of the daily rainfall amounts don't seem to coordinate with a lot of the Villages residents' posts.

No i dont have anything connected with weather underground. I just monitor my rainfall so i can have my sprinklers turned off for as much as possible in order to save money on my water bill without letting my yard dry up. Today is now june 13 and the last time i had any measurable rain in my gauge was on the 9th. That was two inches. If we go to the 16th and still no rain then the sprinklers will come back on but then what i can do is still cut back on the watering time per zone. Every little bit helps the water bill. Right now as i reported earlier i have had five and 1/4 inch so far in june. But thats not to say that in other parts of the villages certain areas could have gotten more or less. It just depends where your at. I have seen people a few miles from me get a lot and i got nothing. Anyway if anyone wants a total rain update for the santo domingo area ill be glad to post it upon request.

That would be great if you would post it. How should I ask you to post? Just put in a posting for rainfall update?

Speaking of updates it rained pretty good here this afternoon and i just checked . I had a half inch which pushes me up to five and 3/4 for the month. There is more in the forecast for tomorrow. Looks like its all over for today. If i would get any more today i just include it in tomorrows rain.

anyone know how much rain in Summerhill last 24 hours?

Here are stats for Polo Ridge - right next door to Summerhill:

Weather Station History | Weather Underground - Polo Ridge (http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KFLTHEVI7)

You can diddle around with the date to see precip totals for the day. Also weekly totals, etc.

Since Saturday morning, we measured 7.4 inches in Amelia and it's still raining. The water in back of our house is almost into the sand trap on the Amelia course.

If you have Comcast, go to channel 99 and see the rain amounts at five locations in The Villages - Spanish Springs, Mulberry Grove, Lake Sumter, Colony Cottage and Brownwood. The station will scroll through different screens and soon you will see the rainfall amounts.
