I see it being a very close election. Could go either way. Villages Kahuna seems to have it right, that there is not that much difference when you get right down to it between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. There's some but Romney seems to bend with the needs of his political party as well as what he sees as what he needs to do to keep his political office. Barack Obama is more of a maverick and seems to lead his party on numerous postions. Both, though, are going to have to do something about the debt as soon as possible.

I do see some problems with respect to the right to decide to get an abortion if Mitt Romney gets elected and puts in Justices who want to overrule Roe v. Wade. Abortion (as governed by Roe vs. Wade) does not seem to be something a majority of Americans want to do away with. This is something that some Supreme Court Justices want to do now though. It seemed to be a big part of the thinking of the Supreme Court Chief Justice and his wife that Roe v. Wade get overruled. Most of the other really important issues like gay rights, abortion, etc. are handled by the States.

I cannot see them doing all that much with the current Tax Code. It will just keep having the various loopholes clever lawyers can manipulate for their rich corporate and individual clients.

Obama's recent move on the road to citizenship for many kids and adults now in the US illegally is a bold one but I see it more as a move to get votes than any carefully planned out policy.

All I am really saying is that both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are politicians who will do whatever they can to help the economy. Most of the people in the US though will fare just as well under Barack Obama as they will under Mitt Romney.

He took on the powers that be in Washington but basically became the same kind of politician to get things done. That seems like the standard course in DC. Mitt Romney has played the same kind of game with his politics. He changes his positions to get things done and keep some kind of party support.

There could be a significant development if new Supreme Court Justice appointed by Mitt Romney overturn Roe vs. Wade. That is the only real important difference I see between the two candidates.

I am still voting for President Barack Obama but will again wait and see what the candidates actually say in their debates before making up my mind. Romney's VP pick is also important but I will be shocked if it is not someone very safe with respect to things being politics as usual.

This is not correct. The President stated his Executive Order is NOT a road to citizenship for these young people.

Is it a move to gather more votes? Of course it is. Basically, it is the DREAM Act with a few tweaks.

It is for children of illegals. The young people must have been in the US for at least 5 years; arrived before age 16 and are under 30 years old; high school education or military; and have had no criminal problems.

You certainly would not want to arrest an illegal 18 year old who has been in the US since age 2, educated in US schools, speaks no native language, has no relatives in native country, and deport them to that native country. That would be idiotic to even think that way.

I have not been made privy to the Democrat plans for the election. If other Democrats on here have that information, good for them but I have no knowledge of it. Sure, I like it. If the Congress remains gridlocked, the President has the authority to issue Executive Orders. Good job!!

I have not heard any wubers griping about Congress going on summer recess when there is important government work to be completed in Washington. They should stay in session until work is done.

I do know that the Republicans and Tea Partiers have had the wind knocked out of their sails with this Executive Order - which is entirely legal. They will be playing catch up for some time with this one. The Republicans wanted to have Marko Rubio announce his plan that would be very similar so it would be a knockdown punch at their convention. Oops, that is not happening now.
