What's with golf carts leaving LSL, heading south on Canal Street? I have seen several in the last few weeks, shooting the round-about to go into Virginia Trace, instead of going down to the Stillwater tunnel. Isn't it dangerous AND illegal ?

Could you tell if they're street legal carts?

Bill :)

One was probably me. Not the first wrong turn I've made in my two weeks. Gives you seasoned people something too laugh about.:a040:

Golf carts in the roundabouts are hard to see because of the landscaping. They should put a flag or something like that on top of a pole on the side of the golf cart so you can see that something is coming around the circle. Not at all circles, but at some are affected by the landscaping. Just a thought!

No, these were not street-legal golf carts. And, Down Sized...I don't believe these were cart drivers making wrong turns...you could tell they knew what they were doing, and they were on a mission, taking the "short cut" via the round-about.

When were here the first week in May picking out upgrades with the designer, we ran into some many people in the round-abouts. The first thing my husband said is, I don't think these people belong in the circles. Reading these posts confirms it.

change comes from within,,, just maybe there is a reason these folks find it worthwhile to violate the law,, the HUGE inconvenience is a true lack of planning on the part of the Developer in not putting in a tunnel to get thru , I in NO WAY condone the action of a cart being in a roundabout,, in fact I really wonder about the sanity of those who think they must have a street legal golf cart, and the bicyclist who ride on the roads... WHY? If you feel you must cross in this area with out going around,, just take the walking path and get out of your cart an push it across like it is a grocery cart...

Maybe the developer should contact you before building anything around here. Seems you know whats best for everyone. Give it a break.

Going thru the tunnel is not so fun either people fly thru, but maybe we can get one of those cart pushers from target so we don't have to push:wave:

Someone please explain the rationale of having bicycles lanes on 441/27, but I can't even cross it in my cart.

...and, I do "cheat" once in a while and take my cart where it isn't allowed. I'll get caught one of these days and end up paying a big ticket.. :cryin2:

Speaking about people that violate the law the last two times I visited my urologist at Central Florida Urology which is located in back of the tire choice near Walmart off 466 it is illegal to drive a cart there. However someone drove a cart to the office which was not street legal. I don't know whether it was a scofflaw or someone who was unaware that you couldn't take a cart there.

Amazing how folks feel riding a bike on the road or roundabouts is dangerous. It's a lot safer than the multimodal paths! People who drive cars should be experienced enough to keep their eyes on the road. Can't say the same for golf car drivers.Lots of inexperience there! Besides bikes are allowed on the roads!

I had to run up to Sweetbay tonight, so I timed it in my cart. From the Stillwater tunnel to canal street took 30 seconds, so the most that these people are doing is saving 1 minute by driving through the canal street roundabout on their carts instead of taking the tunnel.
