I go to your web site to view your properties and it wants to force me to sign up and give you lots of information. If I see a property I really want to see, I might do that, but probably would just call. However I can't even get that far. There are many sites that let you browse without sending personal information to a non-secure web site. I personally will never do that so I can't view your listings. You will lose business unless you modify that approach.

I totally agree with this. I prefer to browse anonamously and other real estate sites are out there which allow me to do so.

Thanks for the feedback. We utilize this approach so that you can create a folder to browse the properties you like, add some as favorites, track new listings that suit your criteria and more. We DO NOT chase any clients that register and it is 100% for our clients to find what they are looking for and repeatedly come back to have their information all stored.

Also the website does not show listings in The Villages. Not a good way to start out. Gonna be a steep hill to climb with this franchise if you can't "un-Euro" the online image.

I would not use your website if it required filling out personal information to see a property.

Glad you have reconsidered that.

I TOTALLY AGREE. Trulia.com has tons of homes all over the country for sale and they do not force you to sign up. There are many other reputable real estate sites as well.

You will definitely lose business.......I totally agree with above poster.

Hi Indydealmaker,

Thanks for the comments. We want to "Euro" the image as that's the market we're going for.... Over 30% of the residents moving to TV in the past 12 months have been European so it was our key to have a European brand present here that Europeans know.....

We don't want another remax or coldwell banker or US chain here.

The local website is under construction and will feature all the MLS listings too. We prefer to do it right rather than quickly. You can visit a local agent's site at the moment here: Engel and Voelkers The Villages Real Estate, The Villages Florida Homes For Sale (http://www.VillagesFloridaRealEstate.com)

In 95% of cases, a client will gravitate towards a brand that they know and recognize and not specifically a property that is of interest to them. CB, Realty Exec, Remax and the "big" US brands are not known nor recognized in Europe or the rest of the world.

With 500 offices in 37 countries on 5 continents and 4,100 employees we're going for the International angle.

Just some web stats for the forum too gathered over the weekend (some interesting reading):

ColdwellBanker.com - 61,172 page views/day
EngelVoelkers.com - 58,377 page views/day
RealtyExecutives.com - 9,025 page views/day
ERA.com - 6,105 page views/day
TheVillages.com - 4,929 page views/day
SothebysRealty.com - 31,914 page views/day
FoxfireRealty.com - 537 page views/day

Data accurate November 3rd 2012 and publicly gathered from www.websiteoutlook.com (http://www.websiteoutlook.com)

With $2,500,000 under contract in the past 7 days, we're excited about getting to the top of the steep hill and seeing what our production will be then.

Hope this gives you more information on why an International and "euro" brand is important.

Thanks Jack - Have fun in Rome! If you get a chance, definitely try and visit Pompeii and Oplontis. Being a "euro" brand we know and have been to these areas personally :)

Exactly why we removed the requirement and our new website won't require it either. You can of course though sign up for market reports and investment property trackers on our new site when it launches.... (screenshot attached)

Hi Gracie, no it's located just outside. After we became the only real estate firm in the area to be Better Business Bureau accredited, we received an influx of clients/developers looking to exclusively use our services. With $15,000,000 of listings last week alone, we are certainly making a splash in the market. We cover The Villages and all surrounding areas too from our network of 500 offices in 37 countries.
