I have seen the word "Bump" on a few of the posts. What, exactly does that mean in TV terms? :confused:

It brings the thread to back to the top so it would be more visible.

Or getting back to the topic at hand

you can also add any post to the thread, in place of "bump," which will bring that thread to the top of the list

You will get the hang of the abbreviations and slang, LABSX2. I remember when I first found the forum, I didn't know if I'd ever understand some of the abbreviations. I read some of the posters comments containing DH and it took me some time to realize it stood for "dear husband." There are plenty more. If you have any questions, just ask. Some of the nice people here will step up and help you. I promise. By the way (BTW), welcome to Talk of the Villages (TOTV).

Rather than just saying 'bump', it's helpful when a poster can add a comment as to why they feel the topic should be pushed to the top of new posts.

Some members aren't regular readers. When pets need to be rescued and find new homes, pet lovers often Bump the thread to bring it to the attention of those who may have missed it.

That got me to thinking (watch out!). BUMP needs to stand for something.
How about: Bringing Up Meaningful Post?

Then it could also be: Bill Ushers Masterful Popcorn! :laugh:

maybe there should be some sort of convention:

TV = The Villages

tv = television

Jimbo

I believe the movie you meant was:

About Schmidt

It included the infamous bathroom scene where Jack (Schmidt) demonstrates his independence from his late wife.
