Harrumph for your landscaping. Sorry.
In the event of a tornado, where does one go for safety in a CYV? I am new to the south and tornadoes. I appreciate any assist on this matter.
Be safe, all!

We were just talking about this tonight as neighbors came over for dessert.
The tornado warnings may be new to those from certain areas of the country but we from the midwest had them our whole lives. We keep a wary eye and ear on the weather but we probably don't get QUITE as worried as the folks who haven't had those warnings for years.
I hope you get used to it and you won't worry so much.
There will be far more warnings than tornadoes.
Your plants are used to the water. The mulch can be replaced. Try not to worry.

Standard warnings are usually to go to a center area of your house, usually the hall bathroom.

So far there have been no tornado warnings. We have been and continue to be under a tornado WATCH which means conditions are favorable for the development of tornados. A warning is more serious than a watch. And as someone who was here in 2007 and heard that freight train sound coming through Mallory, I take both watches and warnings seriously.

Everyone be safe! I agree with Gracie. We have watches and warnings in the ATL area not all that infrequently. Tornadoes are much rarer than the watches!
Remember too that a warning means that a tornado has been spotted in the area, while a watch-- as Happinow reported-- just means that conditions are conducive to the possible spawning of a tornado.

Thank you on the correction. I meant watch which is what we are under. Sorry for my error. Warnings are more serious and that means one has been spotted or touched down.
How can I say not to worry when tornadoes do happen, but not as often as watches are in effect, thank heavens.
It doesn't help when television reception goes in and out and there are tornado warnings and new people aren't familiar with the surrounding counties yet.
Hugs to all. I am sure we will all be here in the morning.
Water is coming in around the foundation in front bedroom. Rug is soaked.
Checking to see if we brought the ark building kit. ;)
Don't worry.

Night time is always a tough time to have severe weather. Equally as scary is not having a plan in place. May not help for the heavy winds and rain from Debby, but here is a great Red Cross link that can help in the future -
