My wife and I are planning a vist in July to see what the Villages are all about. Is there anything we would need to see while we are there? All I know is what saw on their web-site.

It is so far nicer than anyone can explain.
Welcome. Hope you love it here like most of the the 96 thousand people who have chosen to call this place ours.
To be fair we have heard that there are three folks who aren't that impressed................;)
Please give us your feedback. It is so much fun for all of us to hear back from someone who hasn't ever been here before.:BigApplause:

Take the trolley ride for an overview when you first get here.
Rent before you buy so you don't have to buy several times.

:welcome: to TOTV forums. Try the search box for key words like newbie or lsv or visiting, etc. to see what others in your situation say and the answers they were given. That should provide a lot of answers for you. Good luck and have fun!

Bring your checkbook for sure.
Bring your video camera. When you get back home you'll want visual reminders that such a beautiful, well-planned place actually exists!

Take the trolly ride, the boat ride on Lake Sumpter, visit model homes with an agent, ride and explore in your golf cart, visit a rec center, at least one golf club, the town squares for nightly entertainment, see pickle ball, the eagle preserve. And if you haven't already heard it enough, bring your checkbook!

Talk to as many people as possible at the pool, town squares, restaurants, etc. That is your best source of information. People in The Villages are very friendly and love to chat. And they'll be very open about their likes and dislikes.

Nice Job of sites Bogie!
My two cents. Just take it all in at your own pace. The Villages lifestyle and community finds you. You don't have to work hard to find it!

I agree -- take the trolley tour from the sales office at Lake Sumter Landing. Dance on the squares at night. Hopefully the square at Spanish Springs will be open while you are in TV. Drive a golf cart. Go to open houses -- they are held everyday in TV. Have fun. Let us know what you think of TV.

I'm not quite sure where it is but we passed it on the trolley ride. I think it may be off of Buena Vista.

don't look for a 'for sale' sign to be in any front lawn - check windows for signs. and be sure to get an outside mls agent to see mls resale listings since villages reps cannot and will not show anything other than villages listings!
you might want to check lylesellsfla.com before you come for your visit. and try to do everything the folks here have suggested! it's what life in the village can be! ;)
