Carrie Haggart is a woman from where I lived in CT who runs a hospice for animals. She is amazing and many articles and news stories have been done about her and her husband and what they do for disabled animals. Normally, these animals would be put down but as long as she can provide for them and they are happy they have a forever home with her. When there is no quality of life left for them they are put down but never leave alone. They are in her arms. Visit her website: Out To Pasture Farm and Rescue (http://www.outtopasture.org)
If you click on articles and news stories you will see youtube interviews with her by local news stations. It's nice to have something positive to read about.

These people are angles!!! Older pets make fabulous companions. I only wish vets would have a special fee schedule for homeless senior pets who have been adopted. I think a lot of folks don't adopt older pets because of the potential vet bills. I have a senior who lost her home in Katrina. She's about 15 now and is just wonderful. Her picture is with my profile.
