I am thinking I might like to consider plantation shutters in my new home. Does anyone have them, and did you choose wood or another material. Are you satisfied with them? Are you satisfied with the installation and craftsmanship?
Also, I contacted 48 HR Blinds about a week or so ago via e-mail and have yet to hear back from them. So I will move along to another company. Any suggestions?

Hi hrg,

this was discussed here (https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/contractors-services-91/planation-shutters-51263/)

Nothing like real wood IMO.

I personally like the ones that 48 hour blinds do.

He is probably swamped. I would try him again...do you have his phone number?

Thanks. I thought I remembered this from a previous thread but searched the wrong forum! I agree about the wood, Jim. I believe I would much prefer that!
Gracie, I will try, try, try again!!

i would suggest either blind plus shutters or bling and shutter pros..
i used blinds plus and love them.. they have many features you can't get anywhere else like the sill covers for the marble sills and built in magnets no cheap cabinet magnets.. also he uses an installer with 16 years exp. installing shutters only.. you wouldn't take your car to a motorcycle shop to get fixed would you? so why woould you want a blind installer putting in your shutters?

I used Gator Blinds in Ocala and would recommend them without hesitation. The man, Larry, came and waited for me as I worked with different contractors and measured in the meantime. It was 90 degrees and he was here about an hour. As the cabinets were not here, and I was laboring over the color, he suggested he return after the cabs were in which he did. When it came to the install, he was prompt and they were in place in 30 minutes. Extremely nice man and always returns phone calls. Of all the contractors I used for the after market, he was the one who I thought performed flawlessly.
