I have an appt. for Comcast to install on Sunday. Is this the norm for cable companies to install on weekends (much less a Sunday)? I'm from NY and this would never happen here, that's for sure. I mentioned it to a Villager this morning and she was pretty surprised as well. They also said the owner of the home must be present. (Good thing I'm coming down this weekend - and again, no one care in NY who's home for installation). I'm not complaining, mind you - just asking if this is the norm...and kinda' quizzical.

mgm, I can't speak about Comcast in TV, but here in IL Comcast comes out on Saturdays and Sundays (weekdays too) and require that someone be home. Maybe it's the same in all Comcast served areas. Not sure though

I have seen Comcast and DirecTV out on Sundays. Maybe some of the installers like the OT or maybe they have flex hours.

Comcast installer came to our house on Sunday. If I remember correctly, he was not an employee of Comcast. He was a contractor. Comcast told me to pay him directly for the work. However, he said not to bother....Comcast would bill me, and they did.
I didn't think we could get Brighthouse. My daughter recommended it (lives in Winter Park), and when I researched it, I found they were not available in our area. That was only about 6 months ago. Of course, they do expand very quickly!

Comcast uses a lot of contractors. I had a contractor come by when I added the the Comcast telephone service. The only drawback was that he did not have a bettery for the modem on his truck so I had to contact Comcast to get one sent to me.

My first choice was Brighthouse, as well. They're not in my area either, yet - but the customer service rep was very promising about expanding service in TV. He said there is a very big demand for it. They keep track of potential clients and the area they live in. So, call and voice your needs!

This is The Villages. We don't have weekdays. Every day is a weekend.
