I knew it wasn't just me! According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index, Comcast is the 4th most hated company in America. The link to the article is below.

I like Comcast. I have the internet and cable package. I had them when I lived up north and I've had very few problems with them.

Lists and rankings are great depending on what the criteria for complaints are. It would be nice to see the number of complaints and the number of responders for all of these companies.

I have witnessed the most patient person and the most reasonable person I have ever met just have steam coming out of his ears after a long and involved attempt to get something done with the customer service folks at Comcast.

My Sweetie has trained in the trenches of handling difficult human behavior...He has lived with ME for fifty years.

He was at his wits end with Comcast.

I believe that poll.

I provide tech support for employees of a large company, a great many who work at home.

On a daily basis, I deal with Time Warner, Cox, ATT and Comcast ...with Comcast by far being the hardest with which to deal.... its never their problem til I prove it is!!!

I was a Comcast customer both in Connecticut and TV and have had Comcast contractors doing work in my houses that I otherwise would not have allowed in my homes.

Switched to ATT UVerse in CT and it pains me to say, as a Bell System retiree, that I'm getting to feel that they are following the Comcast customer service model.:grumpy:

Please tell Sweetie that I am also at my wits end with Comcast. He is not alone. I believe Comcast should be number 1 on that poll. :rant-rave:

I bear witness to the fact that ComCast has been exemplary in their dealings with me. We have the entire package and they have been excellent to deal with thus far. What some may be experiencing is that this company is growing leaps and bounds in all different directions. I must disclose that I am a stock holder;albeit small. However it is all the more reason as to why I would be more critical. If I had a real concern I woud move this stock quickly. It is being held long term with no plas to sell it

I too believe the poll. They have a great product and it works well. However when you do have any issue, they are the worst company in the world to deal with. And the price just keeps going up. I believe the poll was rigged and they are really number 1. I would not buy their stock, and would highly recommend anyone who owns it to sell. As soon as any other viable alternative is available, I am gone as a customer. And almost everyone you discuss them with feels the same way. Apple TV is coming soon and when it does, bye bye Comcast.

I'm a dissatisfied Comcast customer. I will give them credit for trying to help on the phone but they do blame anything and anybody else when there is a problem. The increasing price jumps and the need to call and negotiate are wearing.

Had comcast in De. They were the worst. Got Verizon FIOS when it became available and they were the best!. Now have Brighthouse and it is pretty good. Customer service seems to be excellent. It is only available in the new sections south of CR 466A. If they get enough interest south of CR466A, maybe we can convince them to "flow mole" (install in existing neighborhoods)
north of CR466A.:pepper2:

For reference "Infinity" is just another word for Comcast. I understand that Comcast/Infinity is very concerned about Apple introducing their own TV and providing services/movies, etc. at much less than Comcast/Infinity. If you have Comcast and go to Channel 1, (On Demand) you will now see a line item "Infinty Streampix" which are a very large number of free movies. I would guess this is in preparation of Apple's potential offerings? We have the total Comcast bundled services and except for the high charges and the frustration of waiting in their waiting room if you have a problem we are OK.

We have had Comcast for 3 years and love it. The Xfinity is awesome. It's like having a DVR, can watch TV series we've missed. And, when it storms the cable doesn't go out. Also, we have internet through them and no problems with it either.

Notice that the first three are regional so Comcast is the worst national company. They have a good, mostly reliable product but terrible customer service. I got tired of excuses and fighting with them on TV issues and switched to DirecTV a year ago and am more than satisfied. I kept Comcast for internet and cross my fingers every day that I don't have any problems with them.

I am experiencing frustration on the administrative side. They apparently set up a username and password for our new account and we didn't learn the username until we received some mail from them. They used the subscriber's name with a period between the first and last name, but misspelled the last name.

And, of course, I don't know what the password might be.

When trying to log on to request the password I received a challenge question that we had not set up and so we had no idea what the answer was.

I'm still struggling with getting this straightened out..........

Good for you, Bob. The problem with Comcast happens WHEN you have problems. If you don't have any problems, they're fine. If you do have problems, you really have problems. Nobody there can fix anything, but they're very good at transferring you to someone else who can't fix anything, who transerfs you to someone else... I've been trying to get my digital adapters programmed since December. Nobody there seems to know how to do it.

Comcast is fine UNTIL you have a problem. As my grandson would say "grandpa they suck". It is well known that their customer service is bad and that has been my experience. When you call on a Monday with a problem with your cable out and you are told that it will be Thursday at the earliest they can send a technician-----thats poor service. No storm----just their equipment that went bad.

Hey, I just did the same thing, but miss several channels, namely, 99 which gave The Villages weather radar, and TCM for old movies. Also Centurylinks movies on demand is terrible. They only offer 1 free movie.

I was just at the office on Rte 441.I went at 8:29 AM to arrange an installation and there twenty people already there waiting for store to open.Impatient as I am,I left and arranged everything by phone which went very smoothly. They have online help which I used twice to assist me with computer problem.I have had problems occasionally with them but eventually things would get resolved.Once i turned on tv and was getting HBO.A month later I got a letter saying I shouldn't be getting HBO and would be removed at end of month.Well it wasn't removed and I was still getting it two months later.Crazy!

We had Comcast in Atlanta for 15 years and here in The Villages for almost 10. Even though I have had them this long, I agree they have been on "crap list" many times in that period. When we moved to TV full time 2 years ago they could not install a junction box on the wall I wanted it on ($49.95). The young man said I won't charge you for it as I couldn't do it. I went with the one that was already installed and no work was needed on his part. The bill came and I was charged for it! I called there customer "No service" at least six times. Finally after being unable to sleep one night thinking about it, I got up at 3:00 am, looked up the President & CEO's e-mail address and sent hime an e-mail explaining the dates I called, people I talked with and explainning I knew they he waas working through a merger, but would he forward my e-mail to someone who could help me get my credit. By 9:30 am I had received a call from one of his office assistants indicating the problem was resolved and credit would be on my next statement. It is too bad you have to go to this length to get something done right.

I saw the same list and believe their Customer Service "stinks." A few weeks ago I had a problem with Comcast. Just getting in touch with them can be a problem......however, long story short. It took Comcast four days to get out and replace their equipment that was bad and causing problems with my Internet and Cable TV. That is unacceptable Customer Service and told them so. They deserve to make the poor service list. Yes, they are "fine" until you have a problem. By the way, their Technician was very polite and professional-----not his fault.

I read over and over how awful Comcast is. And I believe everyone. It's awful. Now that's been established.

But, as a new resident of TV, that still leaves me with the decision of what provider should I use for television and internet? I've asked this question a couple of times and it seems everyone hates all of the providers with the possible exception of Brighthouse, which I won't be able to get in Briar Meadow.

Here's my challenge. If you actually LIKE your provider, let's hear from you! Let's be positive! Upbeat! Cheerful! I sure would appreciate it! Thanks so very much!

It won't matter. We happy Comcast users keep silent because we don't want to get bombasted with what we know are problems associated with a few unhappy Comcast customers. I, and many others in our area (near you), have had Comcast for years in TV (up to 11) and have no complaints.

I agree....it would be nice if the "market" could reward them or punish them for the quality of their services.

We didn't know our options when we moved in April so we signed up with Comcast bundle. They didn't tell us their phone service is so difficult to work with and they charge $20 per phone outlet to make them work. Aside from that we have been without phone service more than we've haad it. Everyone blames someone else and I still sit without phone service. If I didn't need a lan line for faxing they would be outta here.

Had the Comcast guy here yesterday who installed the bundle.Only problem was I was given a different phone number than the one the "moving Specialist" gave me a month ago.I'd already given that number to everyone including printing it on social cards.Luckily for me my original number was still available in their number data base and I had my "real" number back within 24 hours.By the way the work order the technician brought with him was all wrong.

I arrived here in TV as a newbie five weeks ago. Bought a house, all new furniture, and a golf cart. But when it came to Internet and tv service, that is when all the problems started. Trying to decide whom to go with. I enterviewed at least 100 different people (some of you may remember me) with the question of who there provider was and were they satisfied with them. In a nut shell the answer was mostly everybody hated all the providers. So there I was back to square one and had to make a decision. This should not be the hardest decision to make upon moving here. After holding my breath for a couple of days, I did end up going with Century Link. Will know more after the 21st.

You are definitely singin my song! Everything about The Villages was easy to decide except TV and Internet. Here in Ohio there is only one choice in cable, Armstrong. And fortunately it is an excellent company!

I will be following with interest how your experience with Century Link works out.

Congratulations on your new home and your wonderful new home in The Villages. Gook luck with Century Link!

I have had no problem with Comcast's internet and phone service in 3 years. However their TV service was another story, so I switched to Direct TV, saving money and aggravation. Looking for a company that offers package of all three services.

I have lived here for 13 months and had nothing but problems with Comcast.
As stated above their Customer Service, LOL LOL, is so bad i had to make 11 phone calls over 5 months to get an incorrect service charge removed. Every time I called they would say "No Problem Sir that charge has now been removed" But it never happened till I went up the ladder of command so far I got nose bleed just to get a lousy $50 service call removed. I'm so frustrated with Comcast I would dump them in a second if I had someone else to go to but our area has nothing but DISH and I do not want them...

I have had the unfortunate experience of using Comcast - NEVER again. I will go without TV if they are the only choice.

Just one story of many. My mother-in-law was in a nursing home. We arranged to have Comcast (only Choice) run service to her room. The next day her room changed. My wife asked me to call Comcast to have them change the order, as we were instructed by the nursing home. It was 9:00 a.m., we had a tee time at 11:30. I explained to my wife that there was not enough time to get it done before we teed off. I had dealt with Comcast cutomer disservice department before relate to our home TV. She thought I just didn't want to do it for her mother.

Long story short. I called immediately, spent and spent the next two hours, including the 45 minute drive to the course on the phone getting transferred four times, once to India, and was standing on the first tee still trying to get it resolved, which never happened. The whole time had had the call on speakerphone so my wife could hear. Try explaining to your mother-in-law that she will have to watch whatever her roommate is watching.

If you have any issue, however small with Comcast service, forget it. You can use your TV(s) as an expensive paperweight.

I am very sincere when I say I will NEVER give them a penny in the future. I hope the bars and restaurants in TV don't mind me watching their TVs in my PJs when I finally get to live the dream.

Hope my luck holds with Comcast. Yes, I did have a problem when they first installed the gadget but so far it's working well. I do have Dish for TV so I use Comcast only for Internet and land phone line. I also have an arrangement whereby during the period we are not in TV, they only charge us base rate. I have Cox up north and we had our problems all seems to be working here in recent.

Customer service is terrible and paperwork really screwed up. However, I've found the technician's to be polite, courteous and competent. Currently we have two homes (north & TV) and we have Comcast at both places. Trust me-----DOUBLE TROUBLE!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Comcast is not at the top of my most-hated list anymore. I was finally able to resolve the issue of not being able to activate the digital boxes, but I had to make a trip to their office (with the boxes) and wait for an hour in that claustrophobic little room for it to happen.

Did you know that you only have a short time after receiving the boxes to activate them? It's too bad the Comcast person I talked to in January (or February or March or April...) didn't let me know. I've been trying to activate them ever since, but I only have 450 minutes/month on my cell phone plan, so I kept running out of minutes & would have to wait until the next month & start all over again. We received the boxes before Christmas, tucked them away, and waited until we were back in The Villages to try to activate them. Bad mistake.

You'll be glad to know that we now have more than 6 channels in the bedrooms. It only took 7 months. The lesson: Activate your digital boxes as soon as you receive them.
