For those of you who have had nice look'n petunias, are they starting to wilt? I think its because if they have sun all day in this heat, they suffer. I moved my Geraniums (in pots) to shady areas, and they are growing better. This time of year, I've had best results with Vincas. They just keep on grow'n!! Share your experiences with all of us, so we can better get an understanding of Florida growth, and whats best in summer. Happy Plant'n everyone!!:pepper2::clap2::D:wave::BigApplause:

Love your idea for this post. Geraniums absolutely do better in some shade in this intense sun and heat. Should overwinter nicely here as well as long as we don't get a hard frost. Looking forward to other's ideas.

Vincas do really well here. My Vinca plants close to the house made it through the winter and are thriving. I like to shop at Lowe's for their large plant selection and prices. Don't forget to keep the receipts. You can return dead plant for a refund.

I am new to the Villages but have lived in Texas, Georgia and Florida all of my life. Geraniums will survive but look poorly thru the summer. They just don't like this heat. If you love them, keep them shaded and just before cooler temps, cut them back and they will come back again....maybe . :-)
