Land/Sea package in Italy??

i know chances are slim but is anyone going on Royal Carribean in Sept? we are doing the land / sea pkg. First fly into Venice, (3 nights) then go to Florence and then Rome. After Rome, you board ship and cruise to Sicily then over to Greece and Turkey?? Will be our first time on Royal Carribean and I'm hoping they are nicer than Holland America.

Sounds line a great trip .... We use RCCL all the time and think they are great ... We never sailed on Holland America but was told in the past that they were a great line also. What did you not care for?

We have cruised Royal Caribbean 25 times. Holland America 5 times. They are both great cruise lines, however, I find Holland to be an older quieter crowd. You'll have a great time on RC. Celebrity is also a great cruise line.

We never cruised Royal Caribbean and are looking forward to it. We didn't care for Holland American. I LOVE to dance (my passion) and there was hardly any dancing. The music was too old. (I'm still in my 50's) and love disco whichi I grew up with. The one disco opened at 10 pm which is too late when you have to get up for excursion next morning. Other than that mostly piano bars. We actually found ourselves Bored!! I think living in the villages where there is SO much to do and then you get on a ship and we don't gamble or want to play bingo so we were trying desperately to find something interesting but just not enough activities for us. Hubby was missing his golf and softball of course and the crowd was definitely older. We're looking forward to this one though. getting excited with just the countries alone we're going to see. will keep you posted.

We have cruised Royal Caribbean many times and are in our 50's. We find the demographic very comfortable. Which ship are you sailing on? The larger ships have LOTS going on. We are trying Celebrity for the first time this fall for a Mediterranean sailing. I'm looking forward to experiencing their smoking policy. No smoking in the casino (I hardly ever go in there anyway) and they do not allow smoking on your cabin balcony. I've had chain smoking next door neighbors that made it impossible for me to enjoy my own balcony.

I have sailed Royal Caribbean a few times, Holland America a few times, and Celebrity many times. All are nice but I think Celebrity is the best. The smoking on RCL is a turnoff for me. We had a balcony cabin last time and the guy next door enjoyed puffing his cigars on the balcony. Celebrity has no smoking in the cabins or balcony.

Interesting tidbit - If you own at least 100 shares of RCL stock, you get shipboard credits based on the length of your cruise. $100 for 5-7 days, $200 for 8-12 days, and $250 for 14 days and longer. Nice little benefit.
