M&M ain't just sweet candy anymore

:BigApplause:We are here a month now and my hubby found some workers in the yard weeding one fine Villages morning. When he asked who they were, it turned out that M&M has been servicing this house for years. We were trying others as we knew nothing of them. He asked them to call the boss.
Well, it seems that the former owners deceived Megan (one of the M's) and owed her over $650.00! They ran out on her. Disgusting. These upstanding folks are creeps. Said they were on extended vacation. Shame on them.
Well, we decided to give her a try. Aside from relocating to Paradise, this is the BEST move we made. Megan taught me so much about the palms, the toxic thorns, the beauganvillas (sp?) and their thorns. The "other guy" didn't warn me of anything. Incredibly knowledgeable.
Her crew spent HOURS here yesterday and removed mulch, weed blocked,
re-chipped and put river rock down. They even repotted some plants I had purchased and permenantly planted others. Great stuff.
They are immaculate as well. I am impressed and proud of my newly scaped home. M&M Landscaping and Tree Services get my vote hands down.
Hard work and determination are paramount for them. It shows.

I'm sorry but I've had a very different experience with Megan. She cut some shrubs for me and did a decent job so I recommended her to a family member and she did a landscaping job for her which was the worst job possible. I was so upset when I saw the shoddy work she did. Horrible!!!
That was only the beginning, her shrubs died from being planted too deep and when she was asked to honor her 1 yr. guarantee she said she would deliver new shrubs and never did. She doesn't anwer her phone and is
a scam artist. Beware...... Thousands of dollars later a new landscaper is reticifying her horrible mistakes. Reading your note has only caused me to fume once again at her irresponsible behavior. I'm hoping that she will be reported to Crimes against Seniors. She has lied over and over. The only way she answered a call after many tries was by using a different phone number that she wasn't familiar with. I could go on and on but suffice it to say she isn't what she seems.
I don't believe that she was bilked by the previous owners since I have first hand experience that she is a scam artist and I wouldn't put it past her to lie about them.

I certainly had a very different experience worth Megan and her company. After spending thousands of dollars for her to landscape my property, I ended up with a terrible job. I could have done better myself. After several months, several of her plantings died. Her contract guaranteed all plants and trees for one year. I called her and let her know. She said she would take care of them. Never heard back from her. Finally reached her again, and she assuured me she had ordered the trees and plants that needed to be replaced and it would be done in three days. That was a month ago. Never heard from her again. In my experience Megan is a scam artist.:(

Holy CrOp! I am flabbergasted. Interestingly, I have phoned her three times with no return calls. I have not paid one red cent for anything that has been done so I am not at a loss to date.After reading this and another review, I will obviously be alert. As for the deception by previous owners, that is true. They have gone underground and cannot be located. I have tried as we needed some info pertaining to our house and they have vanished.
Holy crOp! I am aghast.
Who are you using now? Thanks for the insight. You saved us in the long run.

The two people that left bad reviews are from the same family and it is unfortunate that they have decided to be spiteful in this forum on her behalf. I have personally known and used her services for 12 years. To the person with the plants on contract to be redelivered and reinstalled, I am sure you live on Rosebury Lp in the Villages. I am aware of who you are and I received her submission for your replacement plants; customary to replacement, I provide an inspection of the material to determine the cause of death (ie lack of water, shallow planting, root deficiencies, etc) and upon reviewing your property it was determined that your plantings died because your lawn men were weed eating against the bases of the shrubs - you opted NOT to have beds created around the ones that died, I do have a copy of your original contract - and I refused to honor the replacement as the outcome was due to neglect on the homeowner's part (which is out of her control). At the same time, her younger brother passed away suddenly and she was out of town for some time dealing with that - I myself tried to contact the homeowner multiple times with no success. Megan did order new plants AND paid for them at her expense, out of her pocket BUT did not want to proceed planting them until it was understood that a new warranty would not be issued without proper bedding around the shrubs. As for the person stating that she did a decent job trimming their shrubs but recommended her, you live in Tall Trees - and you never paid her for your last invoice service. Shame on you both for piling dirt on her name, she works hard to provide good service at a good price and to the lady that wishes her shrubs be replaced simply respond to my telephone calls or call her and let her know that the beds may be created. Your materials are taking up space at my nursery and need to be claimed. Thank you

I just read the notes from landsape treeguy and Mallory Hilll, AKA Megan from M&M. Everything you posted was a lie. I just hope that the readers on TOTV see through your sweet demeanor and not buy into the fact that you lie, do shoddy work and never return phone calls. To top it off you maliciously write a note that has not one true fact in it. I've been on this site for over 5 years and have many, many contractors do work for me and I never had to write one note on this forum about my disappointment. As a matter of fact I always try to pass on to my fellow Villages the good new when I find someone who does a good job. This was not the case with Megan of M&M.

I cannot let this go without responding.
1. I contracted Megan of M & M to do my landscaping shortly after I purchased my home here in TV. With absolutely no experience with landscaping I had her do the job, paying close to $4000.

2. When I saw the completed job I honestly cried. It was so ugly and poorly planned.. I accept responsibility for not having drawings from her before the job.


3. Megan PUT IN THE BEDS AROUND THE TREES THAT DIED. So Much for your argument about improper bedding being my responsibility. That was Megan's responsibility.

4. I did not receive one call from anyone about this. Not one - not from you whoever you are nor from Megan. I called numerous times and finally reached Megan at which time she assured me she had gotten my messages and had the replacement plantings. She said she had me in her schedule for the following Monday. I never heard from her again and she never showed up. As for you being the nursery owner who Megan used, well, then you must work for Lowes, because one of her plantings had a tag from Lowe's!

5. I decided not to waste anymore of my time pursuing Megan because, even if she ever did get back to me and replaced the trees and shrubs that died, I was sure that they would be of the same poor quality of the original ones. So I moved on.

Today I had new landscaping done by McGowan landscaping. They replaced the dead trees and the ugly beds that Megan had done. I am beyond pleased with their work. The McGowans and their crew were wonderful. I now have an incredible garden with a fountain and beautiful plantings and trees.
