I wonder if it will come close to the original classic. I'm sure the special effects will be much better.

In case you are not familiar with it, Gregory Maguire wrote a series of books starting with "Wicked" (which has since become a megahit on Broadway) that tell the Oz store from a a different view. The books are really exceptional.
