I am going to tell you only what I know personally about the prices of golf carts. We now have two golf carts and we were with a friend who bought a cart.

We have a gas cart and an electric cart. The gas cart is more dependable for long distances. The electric is quieter and no fumes.

Used carts can be purchased for $4000-$6000, the not too old and dependable ones.

A very nice new gas Yamaha with all the trappings and Curtis cab sliding doors costs around $11,000.

The really fancy and made to order carts that look like old cars, fire trucks, 18 wheelers and a myriad of other delightful things can cost upwards of $20,000. I don't know how much street legal ones cost.

Welcome to you. You will love it here with us in Lower Paradise. Enjoy every moment and drive your new cart safely.

Hi Gamby! Welcome to TOTV. I find that people on the forum are a wonderful source of information and anxious to be of service to us newbies! I am building in Sept and plan to purchase a used cart first, so I can take some time to determine what I might really like as I get used to things! I will probably be a snowbird for the first couple of years as I have a few projects up north to finish up! Everyone will be happy to assist you with questions or concerns, so ask away! You will undoubtably get some sage advice!

The prices have gone up a bit. A fairly well equipped Yamaha is about 11,500 + tax. Get one well equipped with seats, stereo, LED lights, etc and it is more like 12,500 + tax. I just bought a 2013 Yamaha gas, got a killer deal from a shop outside the gates. PM me and I'll give you the name of the shop. When you consider what all you get, and the improvements that THEY do, you may not consider the more local shops for your cart. I have no connection to that or any other shop or salesperson.
Don

edit : The Curtis Cab is about 2,500 more on any cart.

I'm from Danbury, have been a Villager for 10 years, and know a bit about Golf Carts, so don't hesitate to ask about anything.
