I have found an app for the Android smart phones that will allow you to view TV web cams with no problem and it is FREE. There may be a similar app for the iPhone but cannot guarantee that.

Okay the app is called IP Cam and it can be found at the app location Google Play. Now when you do a search on IP Cam you will come up with a number of versions so you will want to chose IP Cam Viewer Basic. Download the program and install it. It is again free. The pro version looks very interesting if you have a web cam set up at home.

Now that the program is installed you have to add TV sites. Here is where things got interesting and took a lot of time to figure out just what settings were needed as there are so many combinations. Well I have taken the guess work out of that for you and it is now very easy to install.

You will have to click on the setup button on your phone to bring up a screen that has the option called Manage Cameras. You will want to click on that icon. Next a screen will come up to Add Camera Type. Here you will want to select IP Camera, DVR, NVR.

Next will come up with a screen of things to fill out. You can change the Name to something more descriptive. In the make box you will use the drop down to chose Axis. In the Model box you will want to select Axis Web Cam from the drop down. Now in the Host / IP you will enter camera1.thevillages.com for Lake Sumter Landing. Nothing else needs to be added such as ports or anything else.

Next you will hit the test button to test the connection and if you click OK then scroll down the screen you will see the Lake Sumter web cam. Now an IMPORTANT step and that is to hit the SAVE button and that will add the location to the program.

Now go back and do the same thing but change the Host / IP to camera2.the villages.com to add Spanish Springs to the program.

That is all there is to it.

The free version of the program will allow you to have only 6 cams installed at one time so I used the other 4 for traffic cams in my area. A good reference for when in TV and the snow is flying up north.

Have fun.
