This evening around 8:20pm my husband and I were on our golfcart heading to Sterling Heights Rec Center to walk our 2 dogs. Sitting on the side of St. Charles Place on the Southern Star GC was a beautiful red fox. At first I thought it was a dog, but realized it was a full grown fox as we passed by. It was sitting on the golf course just a few feet off the street, between Arrobes Place and Southern Star Way. We didn't see it a few minutes later on our way back home. Just wanted to let people living in the area to be aware. Hopefully the fox will find it way out of The Villages, but with bunnies and rats living in the grasses on the golf courses in the area it may decide to become a permanent resident.

Have seen the fox several times-- think he/she is a full time resident

It's a family of 3. They have been in residence about 3 months and the rabbits do take a bit of a beating, but thinning the rats in the grass is a good thing.

Foxes and snakes make good neighbors, keep the garden varmits in check. Its the coyotes that we don't want.

We have fox on Roosevelt as well, but they aren't doing their job - the rabbits are feasting on my flowers.

Given the number of rabbits i dodge a day on the golf cart paths most of TV prey arenot doing a very efficient job. Perhaps it is because of the easy living here.:pepper2:
