Was driving up Buena Vista today and saw The Village of Hillsbourough! Isn't that an incorrect spelling? Wonder if it is to be changed? Just curious!

Yep, if you're talking FL, it would be incorrect.

Odell Circle gets clobbered here and there as well - "O'Dell", etc.

Bill, I can't find Hillsborough spelled with that extra u anywhere. Btw, it's on Hillsborough street!

Bet there'll be some one out there with a bucket of "white out" soon.

ummmm, if the villages gave that name to the village that would by default have to be the proper spelling. If they refer to it in any literature with trhe other spelling THEN one of the spellings would be incorrect. it is a curious to add the 'u' however.

Since the street is Hillsborough, I would think the village would be the same.

The Sumter County Master Plan shows Hillsborough as the street name and the neighborhood rec.center name.

I just believe the "gate designer" made a mistake. I'm sure it'll be fixed! No biggie!

The "gate designer" must hail from Sumpter County, where they do a lot of extra letter thingies.
