There seems to be an email being sent out that asks if you are interested in properties for sale by Remax and then you go to another screen that has many logos. It comes from someone in your contacts lists. If you open it they are able to have access to your whole contact list and find something related to "financial". A Village resident's broker (not necessarily a broker in The Villages) was then contacted by email and the hacker was able to withdraw a large sum of money and have it sent to them by the broker. They even forged a signature and sent that back by email. The contact list was wiped out so the person getting the email could not send out something warning others not to open it. So the message is-don't open emails related to interest in properties by Remax (not implying that company had anything to do with this), talk to your broker about security issues related to withdrawing funds, possibly disguise addresses in contact list that are related to financial organizations, let others know about this. Has anyone else had this experience?

Have not had that experience but did have a couple of virus tries
in the last few days. One was a virus with USPS. Called the
Post Office and they said it was a virus and to ignore the eMail.
Further, they said they are working on preventing it.
A second was from a Virus Protection Co. who advises a system
is at risk and to buy their software immediately to correct it. I
checked with reputable virus co. (McAfee) and they advised this
was a scam. They reviewed my programs for a virus from it and
cleared out any reference to them. :mornincoffee:
