We are moving to TV 7/31/12 in new home. Cable TV more expensive than Direct TV. Is it that important to have access to the TV channel for local news? That's the only reason I see to go cable.:crap2:

Go with Directv and u will be much happier. As others have said if u want/need Internet and phone, go with Century Link. If you r going to move in south of 466A then Brighthouse is another option. Stay away from Comcast if you can.

OK. That's a great start for us newbies. Now, do we order directly from the internet or from a local store. If local, do you recommend one? Thanks!

We had Comcast when we first moved here 6 yrs ago. I thought The Villages channel was boring. There are many other ways to find out what's going on in TV. I know nothing about Brighthouse.

It's hard to believe Comcast is our only option for cable television considering the number of households in TV. My preference is cable because I don't like the looks of a dish on my roof.
