A woman in England who was our au pair 40 years ago got in touch with me via Facebook. I was so surprised and delighted, we are exchanging pictures and notes and planning to get together next time she comes to U.S.

This is just my opinion, mind you, but Face Book really scares me. On a scale of 1 - 100, I rank about a 75 in computer skills, but I know FB is constantly finding new ways to take my personal information.

There are lots of other safer ways to exchange information on the net and I like them better. Believe me, if I trusted FB I would use it, because my only daughter and her family live in Australia and I miss them like heck.

Back to the beginning. If you like FB, by all means, enjoy. To each her own. I'm just sayin'.

I do not put anything important on my Facebook account. It is just silly bantering and keeping up with what relatives are doing on my pages. You do seem to need Facebook, however, to stay in touch with under 22 year olds. Not exactly interested in seeing their nose and tongue piercings and stupid funny faces.

I can't tell you the countless families I have reunited via facebook. I'm an Adoption search angel usually however I have teamed up with GI Trace and GI and FAmily International search reuniting GI soldiers who left a piece of them behind in other countries after they went back to the US. two thumbs up for FACEBOOK! although I still hate TIMELINE!!!!

I was forced to join FB. This is what happened. I was in the grocery store and ran into an old friend. She said I had the most adorable grandkids. Now I was confused...you see my daughter does not live in our town. How did this friend see my grands? Well FB of course. Once I signed up for FB, I got to see all kinds of pics of the G-Kids...Also have reconnected with distant family.

Just be sure to set your privacy settings!!!

Be careful what you do today, it will be on facebook tomorrow.

There is a Jim Holmes who lives in Colorado who was inundated by messages on his Facebook account. He looks like a 40ish black man though and not the 24 year old white kid who allegedly shot up families and ohers at a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado.

The Jim Holmes who is a 40ish black man also seems interested in the Tea Party movement. Some quick on the draw journalists had mistakenly tied in the Tea Party with the Aurora movie theater massacre's alleged culprit James Holmes.

I share the same name as my second or third cousin, so I am often getting friend requests from south FL high school football fans. My third cousin is some kind of star in southern FL high school football. I suppose it could be worse than having a football playing third cousin. His team also wins.

FB has grown to be our family's and friends way to keep in touch. It's very convenient for all our busy lifestyles. I keep the friends list small and show no birth date.
