Hello all,
We are buying in Fernandina 205, I am not a golfer but I will probably try to learn. My wife is a golfer although new to the game. I would like to surprise her with a golf cart when we move in. We will not be permanent for about 2 years but intend to spend a good amount of time in TV during that transition period:smiley:
OK, so my question? Should I buy new or used 2 seat or 4 seat and what is the price range I should anticipate for each?
I hope one of you great people can point me in a direction other than confusion.
Thanks sooooooooo much,
Bill

Welcome to TV!! You are asking a harder question than you think, because you have a million options buying a golf cart. But you've just reduced the number to a half million by deciding on a gas cart. Personally I think that is a far better choice than an electric, for many reasons, and you can find tons of info about that here.
What I think narrows things down best is your budget. Put yourself in one of four categories: Economy, Rebuilt, New and Luxury.

Economy is a used cart from a dealer or a private deal. I'd put the price range at $2-6K, and you will be able to tell the difference in condition and options after looking at a few carts. There are quite a few available from dealers and private owners. If you have time and want to save some money, go shopping outside TV, Ocala or south of Leesburg.

I'd peg the rebuilts at $6-8k. I bought one from Masters on Hwy 441 six years ago and couldn't be happier. Total rebuilts look just like new. Everything is done over except the engine and drive train, and in a gas cart that's almost never a problem. You order exactly what you want, color and all the options, but you have to wait x number of weeks for it to be built.

New carts are $8-10k, give or take. Club Car and Yamaha are the best gas carts. Luxury carts run to over $20k.

OK, that's my two cents. Good Luck!!

We will have a 2006 Yamaha gas cart 4 seater for sale (around $4200) at the beginning of August if you are interested. It's in excellent condition.

Just placed an order with masters out on Hwy 441/27 across from Marion Market. Great to deal with. It is a club car totally remanufactured. They will take the car down to the frame and rebuild it. They will show you exactly what they do. You pick colors and any accessories. They paint the top to match the body. I paid with taxes $7,500. It is just like new and I put a number of options on it. It is worth a look. It will take about 3 weeks to get it.

Barebones,
Thank you for the information and we will definitely check them out when we are down in November for our design consult. Did you buy a gas or electric?
