24 years old/two hand guns/one Shot Gun/one Assault rifle.
How is that not considered at least a little bit psycho?
Anyone that wants so many guns should be investigated as to their mental status.
I don't want guns outlawed, but we need to take a close look at people that seem to have an emotional attraction or addiction to guns. Guns are designed and manufactured for killing............. A college student with an assault rifle----------REALLY.

He looks more evil than deranged. The news last night said that he had to get a pawn shop owner to explain how to use a gun. He bought the 4 guns just for this planned shooting and even had set a music player on a timer to play very loudly so that cops would come to his apartment. Which he rigged with booby traps to kill/maim police and other emergency workers. The timer was set to very close to when he was assualting movie theater patrons.
Some people are crazy, but this sicko just looks like he is an evil human being carrying out a very depraved plan.

Just tragic and another crazy person. Look at the way he Wired up his apt. Just think if ONE person (maybe that senior) had a gun on him (concealed) he could have saved all those lives like the 71 man in Marion county did when he shot the two black kids who came into the internet cafe to rob and harm. Unfortunately today, you need to PROTECT yourself. Sad but true. Just awful for the families who lost their loved ones. Sometimes it doesn't even feel like we live in America with all the violence. My prayers go out to all the families who lost their loved ones. This kid thought he was the "joker" Perhaps too much cyber space has taken over the kids lives and they actually think they BECOME the characters in the movies. Why can't we go back to "Dennis the Menace" days. Everything out there is so full of VIOLENCE and the younger generation today plays video games TOO MUCH, is on computer TOO MUCH, watching tv too much. Maybe they should be reading some history books and raising their IQ's instead.

I remember when Batman was a FUN movie!
So much darkness / violence isn't necessary, as there's more than enough violence in the real world.

we the people get what we deserve (I do not infer the killing as no one deserves that), condone, allow and permit in our let's not upset anyone permissive society. We have degenerated, devolved core values, beliefs and disciplines to where they will soon no longer exist.
The problem compounds as the current generation grew up with more violence than necessary daily exposure, hence they are already conditioned to accept the level of violence in today's "entertainment" ( I use the word very figuratively as most is not). So the exposure their children are experiencing is at a level that has been increasing and as more and more parents use the "entertainment" electronics as their baby sitters there is a constant stream of evil and ghoulish acts and dialogue that can only affect the mentality of a growing child.
Does anyone think or believe for one moment the current killer in CO was spontaneous in his creativity of manner of dress, the weaponry, the planning, the communications intent, the booby traps? The scenario is so representative of so many of the so called rock 'em, sock 'em, shoot 'em up kill as many as possible presentations. We have been watching it for years and don't even realize anymore the effect.
So as you see the demon like "look" of the current killer, just remember his outfit, his tactics, his theme and his execution are all too very Hollywood and tv production based.
Some of us who remember when it was not OK to even hear the word damn in a movie....or actually see any blood in a shooting....have witnessed the devolving to where we now have absolutely no limit to the language used. There is no limit to the gore including tearing humans apart, beheading, multiple shootings, executions....I guess there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING left to the imagination anymore.
If one cannot see the potential impact this steady diet of gore and killing presents to the youth of today then there is only one reason....you are much younger than me and others like me and or your values allowing such violence have already been compromised due to repeated exposure of the gore, foul mouthed, killer entertainment.
That is how I see it. Yup if the killer would have factored in some form of rapelling or dropping in through the sky lights one could visualize Tom Cruise or Dwayne Johnson or Rambo making an entrance.

4 firearms is not a lot. Most weapons enthusiasts have more pieces than that which were acquired solely in the pursuit of their interest in adding to their collection, and which are sometimes used in different kinds of shooting events.
The assault weapons issue is really a false one. When so called assault weapons were banned, manufacturers merely eliminated the pistol grips and installed classic wooden stocks, classic trigger mechanisms and eliminated the bayonet attachment lug . Now, they were just rifles by definition. Same weapon. It's a feel good measure which means nothing in reality.
The problem here was the shooter. He is a sick and evil sociopath who was under the radar to most people, and who was ignored by the people who knew him and his state of mind.

I have always kept several for specific hunting applications as well, but a 24 year old Quiet loner science student with Military Gear is strange behavior at the least. We need more Big Brother action and intervention in areas where human life may be at stake. A central registry for these type purchases could help profile, identify and stop some of these troubled people from following through with their twisted actions.

A central registration system is the classic tool of rogue governments to know who has what kind and how many weapons in order to confiscate them enmass as soon as it decides to do so.
Obama would do this by executive order and all the liberal cabal sheeple will blat and defend his ability to unilaterally redefine and cancel the Second Amendment. There's not a doubt in my mind that this Marxist President would do this.

I'm would wager however the people individually feel, that their views one way or the other have not changed significantly.

I agree with you RichieLion. On the issue of trying to control those who might buy weapons--being in government does not mean that you will not abuse your power. Recall the women abused by higher ranking officers in the military who were labelled with some kind of odd sounding syndrome because they complained about this abuse to officers who were superior. The military --during Obama's Administration-- covered up the wrongdoing by going along with psychiatrists who were in the chain of command of this cover-up.
There were hundreds of these cases if I am not mistaken. http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/14/health/military-sexual-assaults-personality-disorder/index.html
I also recall that the Library of Congress had a policy-- according to a July 6, 1996 news report from CBS National News-- of challenging the mental health of those trying to improve things at the Library of Congress. The Library management defended this approach as efficient. Of course it is efficient if the psychiatrist is also in the pay of the Library of Congress.
Those with absolute power abuse this power is something that shows up repeatedly in history from David and Bathsheba, through the various Roman Emperors, and then through others in the 20th and 21st Century. The various files of J Edgar Hoover were probably used more for evil than good, for instance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_abuse_of_psychiatry

I disagree with the implied notion that if there were tighter gun control that would eliminate the violant public acts. It would not. They seem to do a lot of damage as well as killing folks in the mid east without the use of guns via roadside and human sacrifice bombers.
The guns do not do the killing....the people that pull the trigger are the killers.
Take the guns away and the killers will resort to the next best means of carrying out their objective....to kill!!!

Chicago gun laws are some of the toughest in the nation. They don't work to eliminate gun crime or any other crime.
Guns cannot be eliminated. That's it. They can't.
Choices: Eliminate all people or eliminate criminals.

prohibition doesn't work.
lawbreakers don't obey the law. (duhh!)
I think society has already learned this lesson.

Hey RichieLion! You must have seen Red Dawn recently to remember how the Russian-Cubans parachuted into Kansas and took over the local governments. The first thing that the Russian-Cubans did was to go get all the gun registration forms and round up the owners. WOLVERINES!
Great movie with Patrick Sweezy and Jennifer Grey. This was shortly after Dirty Dancing. I read recently that they really dispised each other and Jennifer Grey would carry Listerine with her to use after each kiss - while within view of Patrick Sweezy.

Go to this site, Jews For The Preservation of Firearms Ownership (http://www.jpfo.org), find these two movies, they are free, No Guns For Jews & No Guns For Negros. There is no such thing as Gun Control, its called People Control.
