When one finally gets to the design team meeting, do you get a choice in brand appliances or is Whirlpool the only brand that one can coose from?

You can always decline the appliances and get whatever you wish elsewhere other than the rather expensive microwave which you must take because of the venting they need to do to get the c/o to close.

Recently we were told by our realtor and other new home buyers we have to select your appliances except for wash machine and dryer. Let me know if you find out different, we don't meet with the design team until August 29.

U select or opt out thereby getting credit, except microwave as already stated.

So must one only pick from the Whirlpool choices?

Thank you!

It is either Whirlpool or you are on your own.

I don't know what a "c/o" is either. I thought it was just me . . . .

Thank you for the information. We are buying a designer and not a premier.

I don't kow about villas, but if you are getting a designer, you can go with the standard which is whirlpool gold or upgrade to Kitchenaide. We went whirlpool for all except the dishwasher which we upgraded to Kitchenaide because we thought it would be quieter. Can't hear it at all. As others said another option is to purchase after market and get whatever you want, just check measurements. Good luck. By the way, the Ivy is the largest designer home they make. :welcome:

Finally, when did you have your design meeting if I may ask? I would love to upgrade to Kitchenaid, but was unaware of that option? I was told whirlpool standard or Whirlpool Gold, I believe. Thanx!

When we met with the design team in April to select everything for our home the only options we were given was the basic whirlpool or upgrade for 3k to Whirpool Gold. We opted for the standard however just before we closed I contacted Dorothy with Del-Air who supplied our appliances and I traded out the refrigerator for a French door and the dishwasher for one with a ss tub. (which is very quiet). It only cost us $800 for these exchanges and well worth it in our opinion. Great company to work with and exchange was handled right after closing. Did not inquire about kitchen aid but I know of others that purchased washers and dryers from them too all various.brands. I believe you need to checkbwith your sales person and they can verify which supplier was used for your home build, if it is Del-Air I would not hesitate to contact them

Our design team meeting for our Designer Home was one month ago and Kitchenaid was an upgrade option.
We have opted to purchase our own fridge as we wanted a counter depth model which wasn't offered.

bdabob, thanks for the reply! I am SO glad to know that KitchenAid is an option. I have their appliances now and have been very happy with them! Do you recall if they offered a KA French door? Just curious... Still wondering if I will choose my own or take KA if offered as an upgrade. But I will opt out of the W/D and choose my own.

We just met with the design team in July and did not get refrigerator or washer & dryer. We are closing September 25 and are looking forward to the NEW LIFESTYLE and flip flops all year!
