Hi all,

Well the deal for our house in Bonita fell through. BUT we just put an offer on one in Calumet.

I have a few reservations about being that far north but I do love the house.

I just spent 4 days in The Villages, most of the time I spent lost in the golf cart. No worries it was fun. Most people were very helpful. There was only one man who screamed obsenities at me, as frustrated as I was being lost, I must admit...I hollered back...think that shocked him as he then stopped and helped me. I think the recreational route on 466 by the horse ranches was my favorite part. I could be wrong as I was lost.

It would have been much more fun with my husband with me, but I can not wait to get there.

Please send good thoughts that this deal goes through!
Melody

melody - being out in calumet makes it that much easier to get to the market of marion! but you can't get there by golf cart! ;)

Luck to you, Melody! I will keep my fingers crossed for this one! You will certainly enjoy TV no matter what neighborhood you end up in! Enjoy your surroundings and the wonderful people in TV. I only spent one week there, purchased a lot and will start building in September. I only mention this to warn the others that I undoubtably will spend many hours in my golf cart (after I purchase one) lost and looking forlorn! By the time I move in you should be an expert!

Hi Maynaze: Don't worry, we are not aliens north of 466. Sorry to hear about the Bonita home, but so glad you found another. Just remember that it's the HOME that you spend most of your waking / sleeping hours in. All else will take care of itself, as Villagers are all pretty decent people (hmmm, except for that lone wolf). Enjoy your new neighborhood!

The only problem I have heard on this forum about that area of The Villages is the noise from the trains. Did your realtor discuss this with you? Were you there long enough to hear a train to make a determination? Perhaps posters who live in that area would like to comment. Good Luck.

I live down near 466A. I hear trains all the time...nothing like the sound of a train! The sound just become a part of your surroundings!

I've lived in Calumet Grove for 9 years and I love it. The trains don't bother me at all - I don't hear them half the time but when I do, I actually like it. I was brought up near a big railroad junction so I guess that why I like the sound.

I have also spend much time getting lost in the golf cart when I have rented in TV. Most people are very willing to help the lost lambs find their way...

I rented in Chatham for one week last year, and I don't know if Chatham is close to the train tracks, but I never heard the train once in 7 days last year.

Good luck to you, and I hope you are soon a resident of Calumet Grove!

Your neighbors are so lucky to get YOU!.....You are close to my favorite executive course, Amberwood, not to mention my favorite country club, Nancy Lopez.....Enjoy and welcome to paradise!

Hi all,

Please send good thoughts that this deal goes through!
Melody

We experienced the same letdown of a house you wanted but didn't work out. We closed on a home that meets our every need last Monday and here is a picture of what makes all the anguish, getting lost and frustration worth while. . . seeing your name on the board of newest owners!:a040: :clap2: :pepper2: :MOJE_whot:

Remember, when "He" closes a door, "He" opens another! Hoping the deal works out. The area you are considering is beautiful.
