Has anyone had a vehicle transported to TV from up north? I filled out an online request for quotes in hauling my GMC Pickup from MA and I got about a half dozen online quotes and some phone call quotes from $950 to $650 but what a "shady industry" this is.

I remember seeing a thread on this a while back. If you do a Search you might be able to find it. I do know there are some reliable national haulers around, but I don't know much about their pricing etc.

A friend of ours is a snow bird and has one of his cars hauled down each winter. He makes arrangements through his local dealership that services his car. He pays $750 for a trip from Dayton Ohio to Sarasota.

I used Dependable to ship a car from CA to TV. Dropping off the car at their terminal, having it delivered to my home here, and paying extra to have it placed on the top of the carrier the total came to about $1100. The car was delivered without a scratch. It was dirty, but undamaged.

I work in a dealership.. Part of my job is moving our cars around the country.. Since my last day is friday the best suggestion I can give you is when you do decide on someone ask to have a copy of their insurance sent to you.. They will be able to scan it and email it to you.. you want to make sure it is in effect and would cover your car... most do...If they don't want to do it.. Move on and find someone else...

I'm paying 1400.00 to ship a vintage Corvette from New Jersey to TV in Oct. That price may seem high, but its for inside storage during transport.

My husband is driving an SUV from The Villages to the Philadelphia area next week. Cost involved ... 1,100 miles, conservative estimate, 18 to 20 miles per gallon (8 cylinder), times 3.50 per gallon = about $215.00 in fuel cost. Plus air fare back = $120.00, plus shuttle from Orlando Airport = $30.00, plus food for 3 days = $125.00 total so far $490.00. Throw in a night or two hotel, you're at $700.00 easy.
New car for daughter and to see her face ... priceless!

I researched having my Cutlass convertible shipped from the chicago area to TV. I too got a ton of quotes and phone calls. Most of the time your dealing with brokers. Companys that hire independant drivers and their trucks. Quotes were around $ 700 for open trucks and around $1200 for enclosed. I've deceided to drive it down with a buddy. Might take me an extra day but it will be a fun road trip. Driving with the top down for 1000 miles:coolsmiley::a040:

About 800 from ny to fl, for open vehicle. Check with local car dealers in your area for reference on transporters. Mine got here without a scratch.
