Has anyone used an attorney when buying your home in the villages? If you have ,was it worth it? If you didnt ,do you wish you had?

No need unless you have something highly unusual in your closing. It is all straight forward. Pay cash, take a mortgage, nothing out of the ordinary. Save the money for your add ons!

I have bought 9 homes in various states -2 in TV over the past two years. Never had an attorney . Never encountered a problem related to the purchase, closing or financing.

I checked with my attorney here in Chgo to ask if he could recommend someone down there. He checked with another attorney in FL and told me in the end result it is not necessary unless I was going to purchase thru the MLS as opposed to The Villages real estate. I bought a lot, so not necessary. Their process is very straightforward and basically it is what it is. If purchasing a preowned from someone who has listed with a realtor outside of TV, I would expect to have an attorney review.

I agree if it is resale, especially by owner, I think a real estate attorney is worth "peace of mind." We have bought several homes and sold several homes and I have never had a "real" problem----misunderstanding maybe but not a legal problem. On the resale----attorney a good idea whether buying or selling.
