My better half was wondering - other than the shops at TV, how close (or far) are the nearest malls. Places with Macy's, Penneys, Sears etc.

The Florida Mall and Mall at Millenia in Orlando have TONS of stores in every price range. The Ocala Mall is small-ish in comparison but there is a Macy's.

Gainesville has a very nice mall right off I-75.

Oaks Mall. catch 75 in Belleview, about an hour drive.

Macy's, Dilliards, JC Penny, Belks, Sears

There are other shops too, in Ocala! She will have fun exploring!! When you turn left onto the "strip" (1st Ocala exit) and then turn left again there is Kohl's and also some other stores.

ugotme,

Thanks for starting this thread. My husband and I were discussing this very topic yesterday as we were entering the mall near our home in Houston. We're not ones to go that often (only when we really need something), but it is nice that it's conveniently located when we're really busy. That shouldn't be a problem when we're living in TV!

My wife and her lady friends go to the outlet mall in Orlando (Just off turnpike and Interstate 4) and the Florida Mall for most of their "ladies out" BIG shopping days. So I hear!

It has almost everything closeby in The Villages that I left behind EXCEPT...Steinmart.

We have for clothing: Kohls, Belk, Bealls, Bealls Outlet, TJMaxx, Coldwater Creek, Target, Walmart, Sams Club, (Jump in here, I am going blank..)

We have Lowes and Home Depot, Ace Hardware, for Home improvement, and we have Pier One, Tuesday Morning, Kirklands, and TJMaxx again for decorative accessories.

Please add what I have forgotten. We aren't a one horse town here by any means. :coolsmiley:

Plus...just what kind of Mall is expected near Brownwood on 44?

Okay - here's my problem! I want the mall to be far enough away to curtail her shopping (LOL) but close enough where she will drive to it !
Personally - I HATE MALLS !
Love golf stores and sporting goods but hate malls !

Wow! Thank you! That was service with a smile, complete with address and phone number. Sigh... I suppose now I will have to petition for a closer location from them! I'd still travel 40 miles for their inventory though...:mademyday:
