According to new polls (for all you polecats), President Obama has the edge over Mr. Romney in three key battleground states of Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

Read the attached link for all the particulars. I found them to be very interesting when I read all of the article.

I'm amazed that Mitt is losing in Florida. It is such a conservative state too. :ohdear:

South Florida is not as conservative as north Florida.

At the end of the day, Willard will narrowly win FL, and Obama will narrowly win Ohio and will win PA handidly. PA is solid blue and is not as much a battleground state as folks think.

Good polling news all around. Florida still has 500,000 more registered democrats than republicans. Even Gov Rick Scott can't purge or suppress that many voters. Saw another poll today which has the president also up a lot in Michigan.

Presumably all this polling was done before the impact of Mitt Romney's disastrous international trip was felt. For instance, yesterday when his aide told the press to 'kiss his a$$' and 'shove it'. Seems to be a sense of frustration coming from the Romney campaign.

Now Romney is home facing the same old taxing questions. If he had just released his tax returns six months ago, it would have been a one day or one week story. Now it's become a story that will go on until election day or whenever he releases them, whichever comes first.

You would think that those posters on TOTV claiming to be political prophets would take their gift and apply it to picking stock winners or lottery numbers. Why waste such a gift on this forum?

Oh now polls are important, again? I can't keep track of your feelings about polls.

I'll take it this telephone poll of supposedly "likely voters" with grain of salt, thank you.

There's no accounting of who they talked to and the affiliations of those polled.

The last poll I read from these guys the Democrats had an 11 pt. plurality in the polling and Obama led by 6 pts. It was really lame and definitely not news.

There must be something to these new poll numbers, since the Obama campaign has pulled all ads from Pennsylvania.

have you noticed since Nancy Pelosi said the tax return issue is not significant and we should be focusing on the more important issues....even though it was self serving....have you noticed the absence in the media and ads compared to pre Nancy proclamation.

So please....how about demanding the candidates address the real issues facing America....

So he is rich....he pays people good money to do what ever is LEGAL with his tax returns...just like all the other rich people....except for those in Congress as most have not disclose as requested, nor do they pay as required......OK the snap back is he is running for POTUS....I guess we can use the standard Obama approach to controversial issues when he was a candidate....SO WHAT!!!!.

i can't understand why - if the irs doesn't have a problem with the romney's tax returns - anyone else thinks they have to.

maybe mitt's people and obama's people could strike a deal...another year's tax return for the real birth certificate! ;)

It seems as though one particular poster thinks polls are not important - for this poll. However, the same poster on July 28 crowed about a Rasmussen poll. That was the important one, huh? Do I sense a flip-flopping when the shoe is on the other foot - like the Republicans do on a regular and recurring basis.

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say I bet the IRS is reviewing Mitt Romney's tax returns with a magnifying glass. Like I said in another thread, if Romney had released the tax returns six months ago, it would have been a one day or one week story, but now that he is stonewalling, this tax return issue will be front and center until election day or whenever he releases them. And BTW, Romney admitted he has been audited in the past. The tax return issue is not up to Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, it's the press that's going to hound Romney on this issue until it's resolved. Even many republican leaders have advocated to Romney to just get them out there and move on.

You know very well that Mitt has no idea whatsoever of what is or is not in his tax returns. He has accountants and tax attorneys on his staff to take care of that. Mitt, I am sure, does not know what tax shelters, corporations, or foreign offshoring he has. That is all done by the "tax staff" he pays.

If Mitt has been audited by the IRS in the past, you can rest assured he did not go personally to the IRS office but sent in his accountants and tax attorneys.

I was speaking about you guys when you mocked the Rasmussen Poll. You like to twist my words, but it doesn't fly.

Rasmussen is more respected than a poll that includes the New York Times and ABC which are practically affiliates of the Democrat Party.

I don't care about these polls anyway. If the election were held today Romney wins in a landslide. I fully believe that. Skewed polls won't convince me otherwise.

I'm not sure that Scott Rasmussen isn't biased. Source is Wikipedia.

"From 2006–2011, Rasmussen was president of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association,[2] a volunteer role at a not-for-profit religious corporation with historic ties to the United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan tradition. The Camp Meeting founded the town of Ocean Grove, New Jersey, in 1869 and maintains a Christian seaside resort community. He continues to serve on the Board of Trustees and as an usher at Sunday services in the Ocean Grove Great Auditorium.
In 2007, a controversy arose after Camp Meeting denied requests by local lesbian couples to hold same-sex civil union ceremonies in a boardwalk pavilion owned by the Association.[50] Rasmussen justified his decision to deny one such request in March 2007 stating that the Association would not permit the use of its facilities for purposes in conflict with United Methodist Church policy, which he said "recognizes marriage only in terms of a covenant relationship between one man and one woman".[51] A complaint was filed with the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights. In 2012, an Administrative Judge ruled that the Camp Meeting had no right to ban the Civil Union, but imposed no penalties as the organization had not "acted with ill motive."[52] Another lesbian couple, whose request was denied in April 2007, filed a complaint under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, on the grounds that Camp Meeting "routinely permitted the public to use its Boardwalk Pavilion for weddings and other events", which was dismissed because Rasmussen had already decided to discontinue this public rental practice two days before the denied request was made.[51] "

The poll that came out yesterday was conducted by the New York Times, CBS, and Quinipiac showing President Obama ahead in FL 51-45, ahead in PA 53-42, and ahead in OH 50-44. The president's favorability over Romney in FL was +9% and PA was +14%. The Obama campaign has pulled all advertising in PA.

More good news today for President Obama. The latest national survey done by the Pew Research Center has Obama leading Mitt Romney by 10 points -51% to 41%. This survey was conducted July 16-26, so it doesn't even cover Romney's disastrous international trip.
